well i havent really givin a update in a while so.
The last time i posted was dec 13/06. During this time a few of my ricordias werent doing so well. I tried everything from higher - lower temp, higher - lower salinity, feeding, more - less lighting, more - less water changes. The one only thing that worked was..... less water changes.
I didnt do a water change for a month, just toped off. Some would think that this was a bad idea, but on the flip side i benifitted quite substantully. All of my corals are great. During this time i also noticed a boost in coraline algae growth.
Just the ricordia alone recovered and are doing quite well now. My zoos on the other hand are doing even better. All frags grew 2+ new polyps. I also have been feeding phytoplankton 2-3 times a week.
As i tested the water, all my parameters were quite in check. I also have no been dosing anything.
Do some agree that as your system becomes more stable less water changes are needed? I no its a 12 gallon nano, but from the response i have seen i have changed my water changes to every 3 weeks - 1 month.
