Hey Reefers,

I brought you the 72 gallon Oceanic bowfront evolution and it was a success and continues to evolve.

Now I bring you the 6 gallon Tru Vu and hope to make it just as successful as it's big brother.

Among mystery nanos this tank has been eluding many reefers on several boards; and I hope to bring the missing link back on the charts of nano evolution.

Enjoy what is yet to become a fantastic nano tank..

You know you are addicted to reefing when you check out the rocks before the equipment

Very nice rocks and equipment! It's going to look great!

I added my 50 watt heater, all black to match tank... I also placed in the coralife digital temp display... To power up this little toy, I went with the simple yet efficient Coralife digital power strip.

Then I added 10 lbs of live sand followed by 10 lbs of Bali Live Rock...

I toyed around with the pieces and finally got this, hope you guys and gals like it...

I thought the way you had the rock laid out on the styrofoam lid was the way it was going in the tank, you still managed to get the crevices and gaps in the aquascape that make it look more natural to me though. This tank is going to rock! I thought about trying one of the new JBJ MHs on a tank when they are available locally so I can take a face to face look at one. Have you decided whats going to live in here yet?

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the positive comments; skipm I thought I could place all the live rock in the display I was wrong.

I wasn't able to fit one other piece, so I'm going to take that back and see if they give me credit for that rock, at $6.99 a pound I'll get some change.

Apparently when I purchased the LR, my LFS allowed me to gage it to the 6 gallon JBJ and not the TRU VU.

They are different in display, JBJ has more space than this little guy. The tru vu has more space for filtration four inches from the 12 inches of total tank; that gives me only 8 inches to aquascape in one direction.

So with what I came up was the best I could....

Hi Ed,

I'm a big fan of Coralife products; and the 150 HQI hang on the top is a great piece of equipment.

I looked into the JBJ line and the Coralife. The JBJ are nice and compact but neither the 70 watt or the 150 watt have fans, they just heat up really hot like an oven.

Don't get me wrong Eddy the coralife gets just as hot, but it has a built in fan. Also the design of the coralife is much more eye catching than the JBJ. Its more sleek and seems to enhance my overall tank. And if you know me, you know I go for looks just as much as power.

Eddy take a good look at the way my Coralife hangs nicely over all the display area; the JBJ doesn't look that way.

But you know what Ed? The JBJ are much cheaper than the Coralife, you will save tons of money and still have a HQI over your tank.

Hope that helps out.

Jordon,

Not at all do I take things to heart... I'm about venturing into areas of reefing the critics have said no!

Do you happen to know anyone that owns this tank and has the same setup as mine and did poorly because of lighting issues?

I'm about trying them myself and then deciding what I did right and what things need to be reconsidered.

The Hummer was said to be an overkill in our car industry, yet we produced it and now it's everywhere.

I never thought an Army vehicle would make it to civilian life....

Attention all Reefers...

A small setback, I came home from dinner with my wife and went into my room and saw a small water puddle next to the tank.

I quickly scanned the entire top of the tank hoping that maybe it was the aircheck valve on the skimmer and it wasn't.

I moved the tank to the side and noticed more water seeping out , oh no.

So I grabbed a dry towel and cleaned up the tank on the bottom and waited a couple seconds and then found the drip on the very bottom right side, on the seam of the darn tank.

I was so pissed off, but it could've been worse, it couldv'e drained all out and it was a super small leak.

This makes my luck with acrylic super bad, about 1 year ago I purchased the 6 gallon CPR nano and had the same disaster only this tank flushed out my water immediately as I filled it to the rim.

So I took out the live rock and live sand and cleaned the tank and repacked it to get a replacement from my LFS.

I never do a water test prior to beginning a reef and this happens to me again, I will make sure to do one as I get the new tank.

Hang in there reefers, I haven't begun to fight, at least not yet...
