Would it be wrong to ask to have all of the pics posted with the submitting members name next to them? As I already said it was a tough decisionand I think all of the member should get credit for their pics.

Thanks, all of you!! Wow, you guys/gals are so nice. It's so hectic here at work, (yeah, I'm still here...I'm off at 7pm), but to come to check on what's going on at nanotank, and I get all of this...again, wow, and thanks to all that voted for me!! I tell you I am not sure what I'll be doing with the 6 gallon yet, but I do know the network admin from my job is simply in love with my prize.

I may sell it to him and help him setup a tank....or I may not and just setup a different themed tank. An anemone tank would be nice :)

Anyway, at any rate use will be made of it no doubt. I'll be posting up my final type up of my tank and all the schematics as requested by the tank contest rules. I'll do it soon, but what has me tied as of lately is that I bought a new puppy, while my brother was down here for thanksgiving. I got a 3 month old Rat Terrier Male, named Eddie . You can see with a pup, my responsibilities have gone up quite a notch or two, hehe :)

Here's a pic of my new puppy along with my prized tank :)

Here is the low down on my 6er!

JBJ 6 gallon Nanocube

I started my tank back in March of this year, and stocked with 5.5lbs of Fiji live rock, also has a good piece of Tonga branch live rock which is hidden as it's used to help accomodate my other pieces of live rock. I have 10lbs of Aragonite live sand where my Nassarius snails cruise through and stir up the sand to keep it looking real nice. Water used to fill and do water changes have been strictly catalina water, no substitutes, and tops off have been with RO water.

My lighting is custom lighting I ordered which gives me 2 power compacts 50/50's, and 1 true actinic totalling 54 watts under the hood. I took a 7 watt daylight that was part of my .75 pico tank, and took it apart to make it into a fuge light for my back compartment. In chamber 1 of my tank, I have a sponge, chemipure, then a sponge. Attached to the intake, I have one of those clip on surface skimmers that keeps the water surface nice and crystal clear. In chamber two I have it filled with LR rubble, and lastly in chamber 3 I have a catalina submersible heater set at 76 (compliments of my brother mike) and an upgraded pump, the mini-jet 606 for increased flow over the old stock pump. I also glued on some left over sponge I had to make the walls in the back stand higher, so when the hood comes down, the gobies or anything can't crawl or jump over. (worked very well).

Inhabitants:
Inside I have three fish now. I have one neon blue goby, one gold goby, and one bratty red headed goby that loves to spit live sand everywhere! I used to have two black Ocellaris Variants, had them since they were juveniles, but they have matured and grown quite big in the time I've owned them, so while my brother was down, they have been given a better home with my brother in his 72 gallon bowfront. I own two sexy shrimps, and one anemone crab, all of which get along famously.

Now to move on to the corals, etc.

I have two open brains, red/green, and the other the yellowish green one you see in my photos. (unfortunately because of mr. bad red goby, I came home to see it nearly buried by LS and it has died) That leaves me down to my original brain. I also have a frag of organ pipe, 1 feather duster worm, 4 heads of candy canes, some yellow polyps, a frag of small red sea pulsating xenias, 1 short tentacle orange plate, a florida ricordia, a nice frag of green frogspawn with pink tips, some pinkish mushrooms, some green, and one that is an orangeish color. All of that is decorated nicely with two vines of red bubble macro algae, and the ledges all around my LR is neatly packed with different assorted colors of zoo frags. (yellows, greens, orange, pink, reddish pinks, and some aquatic blue ones.) The janitors of my tank aka cleanup crew consist of various types of snails (Nassarius snails, Margarita, Cerith) and my hermits consists of some mini blues and a couple red scarlets.

My most recent addition was a present from my brother Mike, he gave me a frag of his Orange Montipora, which 2 of the pieces he gave me are doing just fine glued on that rock he gave me.

Now for water testing results:
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10
Specific Gravity: 1.023

#9 Seahorse Tank Details

Ok for all of you guys who asked for it. #9 was mine. Tank is about 3 months old no mods. Its is a JBJ Nanocube deluxe 12gal. Using 20lbs of Florida AC live rock. Rock was specially picked (and priced) for plant growth. Along with the 3 Hippo Kuda's is a small cowfish. Also approx 3 - 4 mullosks are attached to the rocks, as well as a few rock anemones. Then just a few soft corals add to the excitement.

Unfortunatly, being that the contest ended 13days ago, I've moved from Maryland to North Carolina. On our 2nd trip back to maryland I got the seahorses and made the trip to there new home. unfortunatly the seahorses got too stressed and passed away last night after being back in the tank for 24 hours. So Im kinda depressed, after all the careful planning and preparing (bubblers, heaters, modded buckets),they were just to delicate.

I'm so sorry to hear about their passing. I am a seahorse lover myself but I am unable to keep them due to my job schedule (I am gone for 24 hours at a time). I hope everything else made the move alright. Skip

Well,

Looks like entry number 3 and 10 never showed any wrong doing for what they did. I would've felt better had they made a public anouncement on apologizing for their lack of vision on this contest.

I hope they learned a painful but valueable lesson that dishonesty will almost always sell them short.

Sadie,

Dragon told me who one of them was, and it was RSG4 but I didn't know he ever made a public annoucement.

What did he say, where is his post I'd like to answer him back where ever he may be.

Please let me know what was said, how dare he taunt this website; I'll have to talk to him.

no he did not make it public rather a more
taunting remark in the contest if you look
on page 3 he states that he thinks some
people are cheeting and flips us off with
the fu icon and moons us it is about the
3 or forth post down on page 3 I do hope that he reads this and is embarrassed by it I also hope he was ban from the site
as he has not posted since that taunt

Ah,

Seems like he figured that DJ was on to him, what an idiot... The way I see it Sadie is that he knew he was beaten, he knew we were on to him.... So the best thing was to let us know it was him....

This explains his choice in icons, what better way to get out of the dilema but to indirectly take blame...

Many psychologist perceive these actions as an immature child seeking acceptance. He failed as his dishonesty caught up to him.

You have to remember he's still just a kid riding the rollercoasters at an amusement park with no parents and he jumped the fence to get in; never paid an honest ticket to ride.

Sorry you are who you are RSG4, you leave a sour taste in our hearts as you never apologized, just a kid that doesn't know the difference between his left or right shoe.

yeah, that was unfortunate, and he was the one I suspected in the end, but I have no clue who the 2nd cheater was...do any of you guys/gals know?

Hey nanotankers,
I really don't want to get into finger pointing as it simply is not worth our time. One of the participants was banned, along with his eight other fake usernames. This is why you haven't heard from him (them).

The other participant eventually got back to my inquiries concerning his/her voting patterns and participants. He was glad to pull out of the contest and I respect him very much for doing so.

I'm in the process of rethinking/planning the next contest and how to avoid cheating. Unfortunately, its taking awhile and there won't be a contest this month.

Congratulations to the winner.

I'm skeptical though. Is that one gallon tank setup really successful? Because I could see someone transferring their coral and substrate from a much bigger tank temporily to take the picture. Then put it back after taking the pictures.

Mike has kept picos on and off for as long as hes been on this forum which is over two years. He knows how to do it and do it right.
