With so many good pics its a shame that some people feel that need to cheat in order to win. IMO that type of behaviour cheapens contests like this one.

Ok folks
dj busts his balls to put an awsome contest together and you feel the need to cheat wtf....this is 2 contests in a row that we have had dishonest participents I thought we were a far more honest group than that !!! Sorry Dj but this should ban them from future contests period, :ban: once a cheat always a cheat . Those 2 that were DQ definatly owe The WHOLE board an APOLOGY !!

Being dishonest will catch up with anyone. Our website is about integrity and I'm proud that DJ stood strong on his descision to remove two dishonest contestants.

We experienced this in our last contest in which I felt victimized as I had spent such a hard time carefully constructing and photographing my pico for entry; only to be knocked down by another contestants votes that quadupled mine.

How can anyone compete when we run a race and all are tied to chains while one is not? It just isn't fair! What ever happened to the true meaning of Competition?

I was grateful that in my contest the cheater identified himself and apologized to all of us and we moved forward.

Lets hope that these two members step forward admit there wrong doing and apologize.

Remember this contest is about sharing and being creative with your entries; it is in fact an invitation for us to enter your home and see something you value true to your heart.

I would never disrespect your home as I feel any member on this board would not as well; so please bestow us that same dignity.

DJ, sorry that it came to this again and I hope you can resolve any conflicts like this in the future; maybe we can all suggest ideas for future voting.

Sincerely,

Mike G

I've ID'd one of the pics that was disqualified, tank # 3. I wont put them on blast or anything. Just know who it was from others postings. Tank #10 I am still unsure though who that was.

My suggestion for future contests. "turn off signing up for new members" during the duration of the contest, and turn it back on when the contest is over. That way existing members can vote, and also to eliminate the bad votes is to continually check the IP address.

I thought that too but I was thinking that the admin of the board could turn off certin abilities such as voting pming ect so allow for them to register but have to have at least 25 posts before turning that option on for them :?:

I like Sadies suggestion, have a minimum number of posts and length of time as a member before being allowed to vote in a contest. I wouldn't want to make it too bad but something like either a 30 or 60 day wait before voting I don't feel would be that big of a deal. I am not sure about the wait for PMing though, especially if it has something to do with something that is either for sale or trade.

I thought about that a long time ago and that function (limit by posts or time) is not available with this board and the voting system in place. I wish I could limit who could vote but it is just not possible.

The only other thing that I think would work would be for everyone to just post their vote with an explanation as to why they voted the way they did, this would kinda personalize each vote but it would also take away the anonymity as wsell from the votes. It would be so much easier if everyone was just honest. Skip

I dont even know if that would work. People will cheat if they want to cheat. I think the only reasonable solution is NOT TO CHEAT.

By the way, good luck, ummm ehhem, #2 ;-) . You got my vote!

A big congrats goes out to Dragon79 for taking first place in the 2005 Fall Contest! Dragon79 received 28% of the votes. This is not his first win and his tanks continue to amaze everyone at this site.

I'm locking this contest for now but will unlock it tomorrow.

Hey...I thought they hung cheaters down there. Always admired that. Sorry there was another incident of cheating. I'm glad the best won though.

Congratulations Steven, you pic was the one I voted for and I have to say I did have trouble deciding which one this time around to vote for. Do you think you will do a themed tank with the new NC6? Skip
