    Blue Carpet Anemone...

Thanks Guys, I learned that I have the Haddoni's carpet anenome which in the wild doesn't host Ocelleris clowns; I was at a loss when I learned these facts. My LFS thought he had the Gigantea carpet which does host my brothers clowns. My particular anemone will host the Clarki or the...

    moving a sand bed...

Hi Jesse, I agree with Skipm that if you disturb a deep sand bed in say 3 to 4 inches of sand you can start a small spike of ammonia to nitrite. But the upper layers of sand in a inch or 2 doesn't usually solidify. You see, when I had the two nano cubes I was able to transfer my sand no...

It's okay Dickie, I knew I would be caught sooner or later, I just didn't think Nanotank members would be the one to feed me to the lions; just kidden. I haven't seen Dragon post yet and that's probably that he's on his way up to the SF Bay Area to open a can of wipe ass on me; just kidden, I...

    Blue Carpet Anemone...

Hey Reefers, I finally did it, I purchased a baby size blue carpet anenome from one of my LFS. I spent $140 dollars on this gorgeous specimen. He told me that my two black ocelleris will host it; I'm so excited. If they don't he will give me back my money, no questions asked. I pick...

Is my Crab going to be ok?

In the animal kingdom crabs can lose appendages, such as legs or claws and regrow them. In the wild they fight for territory, food and sex; during which a lot of males lose appendages. It will take several molts before you see that claw come back; the animal kingdom is really neat. Mike G

    I need everyone's input/suggestions...

Reefman, I read up on those lights and have a hard time understanding the concept of 75 watts of power, yet only draw 19 watts? I have a 20 gallon Oceanic sump and I tried growing cheato and calerpa with my 18 watt mini compact from coralife; I used the 10,000 k bulbs. I however, never...

    trying to understand

Sadie, A refugium can in fact bring down undesirable algaes in the maintank because it competes for the same nutrients as the bad algaes. However, to get this to work you have to follow some rules to get it to work. You have to have the correct lighting, contact time for the light and...
