Thanks for the camera info, guys. I've been needing to get a new digital camera that can take good quality close up shots. Mine doesn't do that.
I am still interested in the Mesoscope, for watching action and just generally looking at what's going on in the tank. I think the Mesoscope people...
incysor, on the A520, the chart says that the "Macro focus range" is 5 cm. What does this mean? That you can shoot as close as 5 cm away from the object?
I know next to nothing about cameras. I have a cheapie 35 mm camera, and a somewhat cheapie Sony digital camera. Is there a camera I could get that would take good quality pics inside an aquarium, with some kind of magnification? Maybe not 12x, but some magnification? What does a macro lens do?
Yes, exactly. That's what Anthony was walking around with at MACNA. My friend Dan Underwood -- the one who told me about the mesoscope -- talked with Anthony at MACNA. That's how Dan knew about it. He told me about it because I was about to buy a microscope for around $300, but Dan knew what I...
It's official. I just looked again, and the star fish is all but gone. Only the tips of two starfish legs are sticking out of the ricordea's mouth. The rest is in the ricordea. The weird thing is that this is a really small ricordea. Where did it find room to store a mini brittle star?
I'll...
Is it the same ebay seller that I bought from? Are they called "Beyondstore?"
I looked at their feedback, and they only have one negative mark.
I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope for the best. I'll report back after the transaction is concluded.
You're kidding! Ooops, too late now. I already bought it. They have a good feedback rating -- 99.9%. I'll have to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. I hope I didn't just blow $67 for nothing!
You're a paramedic?!? Wow! I wish I had the guts to do something that important. I have so much respect and admiration for emergency responders. I could never do it -- I would fall apart all the time.
There's a similar one on ebay for $59.95. It looks like the same product with the same packaging, but with a different seller's name on it. It's probably the same thing, just with a different label. ??? Not sure, just surmising. I've never used either one, so I'm not sure. But at that price...
I have a few of those dastardly little things popping up now in my little reef tank. I'm going to have to start getting rid of them. Some of mine are hard to reach, though. :( Not sure how I could get them.
I just peaked in on my reef this morning and saw a pretty gross sight (at least it was gross to me!). One of my precious little mini brittle stars is stuck inside the mouth of a ricordea mushroom. The star's disc and presumably a few of its legs are inside the mouth, two legs are sticking out of...
Actually, I no longer think it's a type of algae. As it is growing, I can now see little "arms" sticking out at the top of each white thing. It's definitely something else, but I have no idea what. It's spreading like crazy in my tank, on plants, sand, and LR.
Hey, I want one! Can you buy these things? I kinda looks like a tiny eel, which is kinds of cute. I love snakey things, but don't want a real eel. This would be fun, if they are harmless. If anyone has an extra one, send it over to me! :loveface
Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question... but that's a gorgeous coral and cute little Watchman Goby. I have one, too. They are such funny little creatures. Mine has started "watching" me now when I'm near the tank.
I think it started out even higher, and the price has started to come down. Maybe over time, it will come down even more and become more affordable. I think it was just released recently, as some MACNA event.
They are supposedly working on getting a camera attachment for it so that you can...
Check out the Mesoscope here:

This little baby is awesome. It's basically a microscope that you can attach to the side of your reef tank and look at your fish/rocks/inverts/corals, etc... with great magnification and see things you have never seen before...
