    Glass or Acrylic

Balderdash! That's a total crock of BS! My 15 gallon reef tank is good for HOURS of viewing enjoyment. What a bunch of bull! I would guess that was written by someone who has 1) never had a small tank, and 2 ) someone who has a "size" issue :) In the world of aquaria, bigger is not always...

    Fragging a Monti Cap...

Mike, you are an artiste! Good work! Even I can tell, and I have no idea what you just did. :)

Those darn flatworm thingies are back -- in droves!

I started getting little tiny green flatworm looking things on my glass and sand. I siphoned out all I could find, but guess what? They are back in droves! Even worst than before. Any advise? Is there anything that eats these little buggers?

    I'm back.

incysor, I'm so sorry that you and your wife have had to face such tough challenges. I'm glad that her surgery and treatment are behind her. and I hope these post treatment side effects won't last too much longer. You're both in my thoughts and I wish you all the best. I'm glad you're back...

    feeding!

I have a lot of filter feeders in my 15 g. reef tank, so I feed periodically pretty much the same thing as listed in the previous post: DT's Live Phytoplankton, Kent's Phytoplex and Zooplex, and Cyclopeeze, for variety. Try not to overfeed, though, as that will cause major algae blooms. You...

incysor - a question about your blue stripe pipefish...

Follow up to my previous post. I thought about moving one of the rocks from my pod-invested reef into my SH tank, to move some of the pods into the tank where the blue stripe pipefish is. I did that, and it didn't take her long to discover the pods on the rock I moved and start in on them. But...

incysor - a question about your blue stripe pipefish...

Incysor, if I remember correctly, you have a blue stripe pipefish in your reef tank. I have one in my SH tank, but I have been wondering if I should move my blue stripe to my reef tank. My reef tank has a very healthy population of copepods and amphipods (while my SH tank doesn't), and it...

Invasion of the flat worms! What now?

Well, now that my algae bloom is over and gone, and my reef tank is looking crystal clear and gorgeous, and all of my fish and corals have found their "happy places," I now have these weird little green rectangles with "mouths" on my glass. I'm pretty sure they are flatworms. I did a...

Check this out! It's a Mandarin Diner! Video, too! Cool!

I recently came across a really cool reef website, and found this page in particular that is very cool. This guy made a "diner" for his Mandarin fish, because she wasn't getting enough food to eat, due to competition in the tank. There's also a video link at the bottom of the page that should...

GOOD NEWS ON FLOWER POT BUT MY CLOWNS ARE REALLY STUPID.....

Captive bred Clowns, if that's what you have, often don't exhibit the same behavior as their ocean-bred brethren. They just never got the "training" that they would have received in the wild. My pair of CB Oscellaris are pretty clueless about everything. Sort of Dumb and Dumber, but they are...

    Epoxy

Mike, thanks for posting the link to that store. It looks like a great shop. I saw some awesome bright red zoo's on their website that I might have to order. I don't seem to find a good variety in color around here. Or maybe the good colors are snatched up right away before I see them. I have a...

    pipefish

Hi, B! Sorry, I just now saw this post. You're right. I am new to this hobby. You're not being harsh -- I appreciate the advice. I appreciate EVERYTHING you say. I am a fast (read: obsessive) learner, though. Scooby_drew1013: here is a pic of Blue Stripe Pipefish: By the way, most...

    Green hairy mushroom

Great links, sadielynn! Thanks! I read up on my 'shrooms. I have seven ricordea 'shrooms, and they are doing very well. One of mine has three neon green mouths! I'm watching it to see if it's gonna split.

Has anyone ever had a Golden Dwarf Moray Eel?

Yeah, it's a bit of a price shock! But they are so pretty and they do well in captivity. Easy to feed, not aggressive. It's like having a snake, but without having to feed pinkies. :) I guess.

    Beware of hackers...

The admin has now installed new software to run the forum and is in the process of restoring a previous backup. The admin's in the UK, and he was up all night working on this. I don't think he's had much sleep in the past three days. Forum ADMINS are heroes!! :)

Has anyone ever had a Golden Dwarf Moray Eel?

I'm interested in getting one, and I have a local marine livestock distributor who said he can get me one (for big bucks, of course!). They are very hard to come by. Anyway, they get about 10" long and are the diameter of a pen, and they are not aggressive and are easy to feed. They are not...

    Beware of hackers...

I am so sad. The lame brain idiot who hacked seahorses . org completely trashed the site, deleted all of the forums and created his own one forum in praise of himself, and he sent out an e-mail from the "admin" of the forum to all the users of the forum, saying: *************** That's...

One of my Pom Pom Crabs is going to be a Mommy, or a Daddy!

Well, I guess it's true. We are breeding. I found this very interesting tidbit on Pom Poms breeding, on wetwebmedia.com. See the second article on this page. Also, if you scroll down further on this page, you'll see a pic of a Pom Pom Crab with an orange/red egg sack on her. Fascinating...
