My tank is cloudy (new tank)

Agreed, cloudy water is common at first. If you want to rinse out any particulate matter and sand caught up in your filters, shut them off first. then siphon out the water from the filter box with the sand that does drop in there. It's just a matter of time and it should settle. I did set...

sick zoanthids wit white stuff on its head

Hmm, see any small snails that look like this under the rock or around the zoa's matting? & what kind of hermit crabs? BTW, I don't think that's too much light. It's odd that only the tentacles are being eaten and that it's so uniformly widespread though... Possibly a toxin in the...

tank crashed the living dead kinda

That upgrade is a good move. I'd still add another pump to put diffused or randomize flow in the tank. :bash1:

sick zoanthids wit white stuff on its head

Have you recently added anything to the tank? What other livestock do you have? Sounds more like predation or possibly allelopathy.

Kewl "start"! So much potential~ Do you have any supplement flow in there?

Replacing 6 gallon nano cube fans

A year is kind of a short lifespan IMO. I upgraded my fans, it was actually very easy compared to the lighting, which I had to recruit help for. Mine is pretty much a fan and an adaptor to the wall. You may have to drill some holes in the back for the wire to come out though. Your local LFS...

    chalice

OK, I did a little ressearch on chalice coral and I'm getting a few mixed messages. First...is Chalice a LPS or is it an SPS? From the information I got, chalice likes to be placed kinda in a lower light setting, set vertically so it can feed better. And I'm supposed to feed the "eyes"...

    Got my tank and stand!

Thanks, THAT was one of the hardest things to do! At first I had it setup the way I liked the rock to look, but then I reaquascaped it for stacking coral on it, turned out much better in the end. :bash1:

    Got my tank and stand!

I added some caulerpa prolifera to the main display, a pavona frag, chalice, and one itsy bitsy neon green/yellow caulastrea frag! All is doing great, attributed to the great information I got from you all, diligent monitoring and water changes, and frequent (but careful) feedings! :)

    Feeding coral

I know some people don't feed their coral or did it rarely. And then some people think I'm insane cause I feed at least every other day. I target feed very carefully, as not to cause unneccesary waste. I was told by my LFS that blastomussa wellsi doesn't need to be fed much at all and grows...

    24g Aquapod

My first coral was a mushroom (ricordea)! They've floated away, been covered with substrate, had bits of liverock fall on them...can't kill'em, at least, unintentionally, lol. :bash1:

    Got my tank and stand!

:bash1: Tank shot! Lots of color coming on the rocks really quick. I'm preparing to battle aptasia :P They are super small right now, but I know that can change.

    Got my tank and stand!

Just try to get the head or as much as the stalk possible? I heard I should try to chip the base of the parent colony along with it? It actually receives more light than the colony does the way it's positioned. I wonder if it'll be alright to leave on it?

    My First Marine Tank 15G

Looks like a good start! Anemones can be a pain sometimes, mine were in my 45, I had to make a little rock pile just for them cause they would wander and sting corals. They were happiest and stayed put when my SG was pretty high (1.0265-1.027). Most tank raised clowns have never even seen an...

    water clearity

Yeah clouds are overrated! It's what your tests show that counts. I've seen really "sparkley" tanks with awful parameters! Just pop some poly or carbon in there if you want and of course partial water changes. I'm sure it'll go away in time. :bash1:

    Loopy Clownfish Just Died

Hmm, if you darken the room and shine a light towards the surface, they might get curious and go to it. A trick when trying to get them near anemones... Have a small net ready!

    water clearity

And what were your parameters? :) This is about the time spikes in bacterial blooms occur. Great opportunity to do a partial water change. Ensure that flow isn't just dusting up some substrate and check your calcium levels if you are dosing. When in doubt, water change IMO. :bash1:

    Got my tank and stand!

That's what I thought too! BUT, I definitely see a polyp on the end. That light color brown you see in the pic is the soft polyp that expands and deflates. During feeding most the tube worms on my rock spit out that sticky cob web stuff too, this one just retracts. There might be a chance it...
