Journal for new canopy to house MH retro...

The entire unit will be primed and painted with gloss black paint outside, white gloss inside. The unit will sit above my 16 gallon tank on feet, much like the feet on many fixtures out there. I plan on installing some sort of small fan in one end. Also, there will be an acrylic splash guard...

Journal for new canopy to house MH retro...

Construction begins... Today I began cunstruction on the new canopy. Let me tell you that it is always easier to improve on an original design than it is to create an original. I quickly ran into things that I didnt originally plan for. But so far, so good I think. Heres some pics...

Journal for new canopy to house MH retro...

So, it looks like this is my first in a possibly long series of posts on my retrofit to my 16 gallon bowfront. Over the next few days, hopefully by the end of this weekend, I will be constructing a canopy to which I will install my two existing 40 watt smatpaqs, along with this nice little...

anyone had this problem with halides?

i agree with you, sadielynn, i think im going to go with two smaller fans. but when i read that post about people who have added a fan or two to their halide setup, and then immediatly noticed the light yellowing, i became a little concerned. However, i read the whole post and it seemed to me...

anyone had this problem with halides?

I came across a post while researching for my mh retro. Firstly, i plan on designing a 20"L x 6"H hanging canopy very similar to this one, except that the back will be open, and note that there is ventilation along the top ----> http://www.thekrib.com/Lights/Lobos/ . I will be putting a 70...

    #1 nano site!

I definitely agree! I have visited many a nano tank site, and am even a member of another site, yet this site remains to be the best one out there. The info and knowledge as well as the courtesy and friendliness of this site are superior to any other.
