    2.5 gal lighting suggestions

Generally, lighting depends on what you want to keep. But in a 2.5g, you are kind of limited on livestock anyways. so i would say something like the dual 18 watt 12" power compact satellite ----> http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/P ... 004+113345 or the less expensive coralife dual 18...

    Does anyone regret choosing acrylic?

I am aware of the disadvantages/advantages of both glass AND acrylic, but I wanted to see if anyone out there took the dive into acrylic. Did/do you regret it? Would you suggest it? I ask because while looking into a different tank, I got the itch to try acrylic. It would be a 20g long size...

New to the page. Here's my 4 gallon.

i think even a 70 watt halide on such a small/shallow tank would be overkill. imo, a good pc fixture would be sufficient for anything you wanted to put in there. BTW, looks great.

    First Nano Effort...

there is no problem with starting with a larger setup...actually there is more room for error in a larger tank. the only problem you will run into is cost...obviously it it more expensive the larger you go.

    First Nano Effort...

Welcome jeff. as far as which tank to use, i dont have any experience with the nano cubes, but that is because i never want to. i know that many people here are using them, but i see them as being sort of restricting...you cant add any form of filtration, lighting is rather difficult to...

    lemon/lime / boiling h20

The standard joes juice applicator has just a straight plastic tip. I do believe that they offer a 90 degree tip as well...this may be beneficial to your circumstance. jesse

    lemon/lime / boiling h20

i would use a syringe...that is the best way. you want to target the aiptasia. thats why i prefer joe's juice...it comes with the syringe and works like a charm. Sadie...I actually have the applicator syringe that came with the joes juice. I could send it to you for free if you want to...

can you build a fuge out of a 5-10 gal. HOB filter.

It is probably a little small to do anything usefull with it. Maybe consider plumbing a 5.5g or 10g tank externally. It would be a fairly simple DIY project that a few people here could help you with. PLus it would be a lot more beneficial and not much more expensive. Many people here have...

    New 2.5G my first Nano

you may want to try this mini heater. It doesnt have a thermostat, though, but it is fully submersible and the directions state that you can even put it under gravel it would probably be much easier to conceal that what you have. Just an idea. http://www.petco.com/Shop/Product.aspx? ...
