Just to follow up on this post, i have recently experienced a swarm of FW, and the velvet nudi that I bought has really delivered a huge blow to the population. I know this is a temporary fix, but now I can treat my tank more effectivly with FW exit. jesse

is there a best method to moving a sand bed? Moving a sand bed starts a cycle, right?

Well actually, after some more brief research, I dont think this is a good option form me. This is due to the fact that these fish need more like a 5" sand bed...in a 12 1/2" tall tank, this just wouldnt work. Too bad, 'cuz these guys have one of the best personalities.

I definitely second this. I buy catalina water from my LFS and the SG is usually 1.026. So all I do is add a little RO water to it to drop it to around 1.023.
