    Jesse's 20L+20L fuge...

Hey all... I'm workin on putting together a battery-powered 5 gallon ATO, all I need is a float switch. In the mean time, I threw this little guy together. It is a 1 gallon gravity-fed ATO made using a gatorade bottle... works like a charm! Plus it cost nothing! Check it out...

    Unknown Type Algae

Dont worry about the red bristly stuff, i have the green variety and it doesnt cause any problems. But like sadie said, do a water change, about 30-40%, and do some manual removal as best as you can. Jesse

12g NANO LIGHT UPGRADE (70w vrs 150w this time) 05.04.06

I would add an additional PC... if you DO decide to go with MH, go with a 20,000k bulb. Jesse

    Upgrade for My 6g Nano?

No matter what upgrade you go with, you will have to add a fan or two to keep down the temp with the added heat... dont forget about that. Jesse

    hydnopora

Hmmm... I would put this coral as high as you can in the tank and just keep an eye on it. Do you see good polyp extension? This coral whould look sorta shaggy. Jesse p.s. Place this coral a couple inches away from all the other corals... it can be aggressive.

    Upgrade for My 6g Nano?

I dont know what you really mean by this. Really the only stronger lighting is MH, which you could do if you went topless and got a 70 watt JBJ Viper K-2. Otherwise, all you can do is add more 18 watt PC's. The higher wattage PC's are going be longer an thus they wouldnt fit in your canopy...

    hydnopora

hydnopora is a high lighting, high flow coral. It is a flat-growing SPS. I have heard that this coral is "on-the-fence"....that is to say it is an LPS that is often written off as an LPS. Either way, care for it as an SPS. That being said, can you remind me what your lighting, tank size...

Taking on a bigger project.... Please give ideas.

A single MH wont cut it on a 48" long tank... you would want at least two, maybe three on that length. As far a which bulbs, I am not all that familiar with VHO's, but I would guess that two 10,000k and two actinics would be the best combo, although others here probably know more than i do...
