What would you need to start a 10 gallon nanotank?

The Bigger the better with saltwater tanks. Nanos aren't the best idea for someone just starting off because of the fact that the smaller volume of water, the easier it is to mess it up. I suggest buying a few books and learn as much as you can before you get into it. Make sure you know about...

    securing live rock

yea, place it right on the sand bed, if you can get it in as much as you can so it doesnt get moved by any burrowing critters. I've been told by some people to put in the live rock first and then put in the sand, but thats crazy talk. The sand would get all over the rock and everyhting would be...

    My first tank

Well temp should probably be around 77-81. Stability is really more important than the actual temp. With your setup i would just say to move the light closer or farther away depending on if you need more or less heat. The only thing i would worry about is how low it would get at night with the...

They are good in that they scavenge for uneaten foods, debris, etcs. You dont have to worry about them eating anything unless they get big. And no, they shouldnt multiple. Are these 3 in your .75 gallon tank?

    My first tank

You know, you really should get a thermometer. You can get a digital one on Ebay for about $10-15. Or even go with a cheap stick on one for $1 at your LFS. Either way, you should definitely get one.

    Brown algae on live rock

just a suggestion... you might want to get a few astrea snails to help out with algae and diatoms. With that, the cleaners should do a good job of keepin everything nice and clean.

    Identify Section

Karita just posted a question about identifying an organism in her tank, and so i thought it would be a good idea to devote an entire section to the identifying of organisms, corals, etcs.

It's kind of hard for me to see the picture, but it might be a bristleworm? They tend to hitchhike on live rock. http://www.coralreeftanks.com/pages/bristleworm.html for a picture of one. They can be bad for the reef when they get large, eating some corals and/or clams. They are usually...

    True Perculas

I think tank raised clowns might have a harder time hosting as they are not used to it in the wild. I have heard of them doing it, but some might be reluctant.

    Eclipse 6 (56k Warning)

You know what, before you get it all set up with rock and everything, i would suggest painting the back of the tank black. That helps hide the pipes, plus IMO, gives it a nicer look.
