any idea what the bulbous stuff on the rock is?

so if i broke that large rock in 2, leaving 3 rocks... how would u arrange them? here is the tank now after my movements...also, what are the bulbous things on the rock?

Yea i was thinking about doing that, then the little rock stuck almost to the front glass if i turn it so the low side is near the large rock here is the current pic:

yea, its a 300.... the plan is a clown and probably a goby (something that sand sifts) and a pretty hefty cleanup crew... then ill move on to a couple corals...

any sand thats dry and lives on a shelf will contain no live bacteria... if it did, all those bacteria cycle products would work as they claim...when in reality, the only one that works (bio spyra) is refridgerated in solution and if warms, it dies.... Its just reef sand, no mention of Live

there is LR...15lbs of it, which was under water when purchased. (not sure if it was cured or not)

How long should it take for the cloudyness after initially filling the tank to go away? Filled my nano up today and got it all setup and just wondering how long it will be cloudy for... I rinsed the substrate til the water was clear... its CaribSea Aragonite Reef Sand

gotcha.. i have a 300 as well... it came with foam, carbon and some Biomax stuff for the filter... should i use all 3 or just the carbon/foam?

Running an AC HOB with the foam/carbon inserts or removing the media and just tossing some LR in the filter basket (without its own light and not fuge modded)...?

filled the tank tonight for cleaning, im able to slide it on the counter and pivoting it to get to the filter should be easy...

how long do they last if u run them constantly?

cleaning shouldnt be too bad, the light comes off fairly easily and i can get to all sides but the back with no hassle... i am contemplating maybe putting it on something that slides a little easier... and it gets no direct light

Question for everyone... I am thinkin I am going to put my 10g on my kitchen counter, under the overhanging cabinets (in a corner) with a few inches clearance above the light... our counters are higher than any table i have to put the tank on and eliminates bending over to look into the the...

using an AC HOB with skimmer attachment, do you take the filter media out or run the filter as u would in a FW tank?

i will most likely add the cleaning crew first, give some further contemplation to the fish and add both fish at once... after the cleaning crew have established..

After a cycle is complete, does it matter in which order you put fish/coral into the tank? As seen in my other posts, i will most likely do a clown fish and a wrasse/goby (havent decided on the later). I am curious if i add the fish first and intro the corals later will the fish bother them...

would a clown, goby and a wrasse be too much or would there be compatibility issues etc? most likely ill keep 2 fish since i have no protein skimmer... so its between the wrasse and the goby
