depends on how often you change/clean it. I think im gonna just buy one of those bulk bags of the foam at petsmart and just cut to fit the filter cannister and change it often..

i think the webbing in my tank was just bacteria die off.. I havent seen it since and it dried up after about 2 days... Mind you it showed up about 24hrs after i initially set the tank up, so some bacteria die off on the rock made sense...

what does water height have to do with the skimmer attachment? the top of my skimmer attachment floats up and down to stay at the water surface level
