    Update!

How is your tank doing now? Any updates? Are you planning on zapping the aipatsia before it spreads? Jesse

    Base rock for aquascape...

Do you have any LFS's in your area that sell dry LR? (well i guess it wouldnt be LIVE!!) I bought some like that for Around $1.00-$1.50/lb from a LFS. I think that lace rock will work too. You can usually build a "shelf" out of PVC and egg crate that you then attach your LR to... if you do...

    Unknown stuff

I just mentioned that because the skeleton almost appears to be pushing through the tissue. If you notice the tissue inflating or looking more "fleshy", then there is a chance that it will pull through. It is just that in that pic, it looks like it is on it's way out. I hope it lives...

    camera settings

As far as white balance goes, I usually use the auto white balance setting. I do toy around with the WB using a setting called fluorescent/daylight... there is a separate one for indoor fluorescent too. I use FastStone Image Viewer 2.5 to further adjust brightness, contrast, clarity, etc...

    camera settings

I always take my pics at 2560x1920 recorded pixels at the highest quality setting, edit them, then size them down. I find that that gives me the best possible image. That is a very good pic that you posted... it seems to be a better quality image than what you normally post. Jesse

    Nano Bookshelf 6.6 Update 06/11//06

Looks OUTSTANDING as always. It is definitely a plus to have a tank that is that stable on it's own. Jesse

    Unknown stuff

IMG_0017.jpg IS aipatsia, kill it. IMG_0024.jpg is some sort of LPS that looks like it is going to die off. IMG_0019.jpg is a sponge. IMG_0022.jpg is likely a sponge too. IMG_0015.jpg is a crab that may or may not be reef safe. It is probably next to impossible to catch him though...

    Contemplating an upgrade. Need advice.

My first observation of those upgrades is that you are cramming all of those PC's together, literally side-by-side. As a result, I can imagine that you could lose up to 40%-50% of the light that isnt being reflected from the back of the bulb back into the tank. I have read several posts where...

    MH 10,000K or 20,000k

That would be a KILLER setup. I also had the Aromat ballast (electronic) and loved it too. Dont forget to keep an eye out on the classifieds sections of the various reefing sites.... you can almost always find great deals. HTH, Jesse

    SCARED OF LIGHT!

Like skip said, just go with a higher kelvin lamp... like the Phoenix 14,000k lamp. It is blue enough that you dont need actinici supplementation. You can also go with a 20,000k lamp to get an even bluer/violet look, but only the Radium has a decent amount of PAR... photosynthetically...

    MH 10,000K or 20,000k

it is very difficult to compare 10,000k to 20,000k. Each 10,000k brand looks different, and each 20,000k brand looks different. It also depends on whether you are going for a "white" MH that you are going to add actinics to, or whether you aren't going to have actinics. Personally, I like a...
