You don't want sand blown up onto your LR. If you see this just take a turkey baster and 'blow' it back off of your LR. This is because the sand inhibits flow to the LR. This is unavoidable on the bottom of LR or the LR that corals come on. Don't worry about it. Just place the button polyps...

Yep, you'll have to remove it. Easiest way is to find a place where the mat isn't really attached and slowly peel it back from there. You can use a razor blade to start it, and help it along. B

No it's not toxic. It was orginally developed as a surgical glue. It's safe for aquarium use. I have heard that if you use a lot of the liquid in a small tank with a skimmer that it can make the skimmer go crazy for a bit, but other than that it's as safe as can be. B

Not at all. Take the GSP out of the tank. Pat the back of it dry with a towel, and squeeze a bunch of gel onto it, then quickly press it against the area you want it to be glued to. You may have to hold it there for 2-3 mins, but that should do it. B

So you only want the water to be 5" high over the LR? That seems shallow to me. You can use an external pump like that if you Have a T at the top as the plumbing comes over the side so that you can prime the pump. B
