    Help!

It could easily be a cleaning chemical since you have a housekeeper. All that it would take is for her to dust or clean windows too close to the tank and a small amount of spray could end up in the tank. Of course now you need to concentrate on saving everyone in the tank, run carbon and do...

    2.5 update

What kind of tank is it? It looks pretty interesting (the tank itself) but I am not sure what kind/brand it is. Thank you in advance, Skip

    Help!

Since its your inverts that showed the first signs of trouble is it possible that copper somehow got in the system? Other things to consider would be has there been any cleaning in the room with chemicals that may be affecting the tank or perhaps a visit from the exterminator? I wish you luck...

    Fish for a 2.5?

In my past experiences with clown gobies, the yellow ones stayed out in the open much more than the greens or blacks. I would stay away from the citrons in this case because they get a little bigger than the others. HTH, Skip

    Float Switch Question

So far I haven't been able to get an answer so maybe someone here can help me. I have a JBJ Nanocube 12DX and want to know where and how to mount a float switch for an auto-topoff system? Pics would be very helpful also. Thank you in advance. Skip

    Water Storage

I think that slimy stuff comes from some kind of contaminant that either got in the container or wasn't rinsed out before use. Pure water should be able to be stored indefinately as long as there are no contaminants in the storage container.

    Fish for a 2.5?

Lately the price here has been $15-$16 for a yellow clown gobie. I thought the same thing about a better capture method driving the price up but I was just wondering if someone had heard something I had missed. I may add one to my nanocube a little later, I sure hope they are doing better by...

    Fish for a 2.5?

In my area I have also noticed that the price for yellow clowns gobies has almost doubled, does anyone have any idea why this may be? I wonder if they are using different methods for catching them and thats why the are not as hardy as they used to be.

Gold striped maroon clown in my 20 gal?

I think they would be alright together as they grow older together but I would want to have an alternate plan just in case. As for the anenome I have been told by a friend who is a clownfish breeder that most clowns don't have the hosting instinct that wild clowns do, so that would depend on...

It would probably okay then as long as you don't plan on adding corals in the future.

    Fish for a 2.5?

I think that a 2 1/2 is a bit too small to try and keep a fish in, definately not a pair of fish. If I were to try at all I would say a single clown gobie or one of the dwarf shrimp gobies (but that would suck since I would want the shrimp too). Instead of a fish have you thought about maybe a...

    flame angel

I don't have a personal story about one but can tell you if there are corals in the tank there are very few specimans of dwarf angels that are not coral nippers, so they are not idea candidates for a reeftank. Skip :(

Pic of the week --- Interaction

That crab looks alot like a stone crab. They get to be about 6 inches acrossed (at least the ones I have seen) and are said to have real tasty claws (the only part you can harvest) but I can't say from experience because I am allergic to seafood. On the larger ones they have one claw that is...

    Live Rock Creepy Crawlies

If it has a small shell that the body of the creature sticks out of all the way around I was thinking that maybe it is a stomatella snail which is good. If it is a seaslug or nudibranch then there is a good chance it needs to come out. Keep trying to get a pic and post it then maybe we can...

    crabs

I am not 100% sure but I believe they can regenerate lost limbs. I know a shrimp can grow new limbs after molting but I am not sure about a crab.
