Rookie calling out for help - 12g Nano

ok well how old is the tank? and what kind of sand/gravel is it? If I were you I would put in a bit of Live Rock and let the tank cycle (it will take about a month or so...fyi). While that is going on I'd just read up and use the search tool here on this web site and asks questions. Hope...

    leakage...

Piratesreef suggestions seems to be the best bet, (the one about cutting out the silicon and redoing). Just remember more is not always better with the silicon, heck use masking tape (put it about 1/4 - 1/2 and inch from seam on both planes of glass) and run a continuous bead of silicon around...

    Pirate's Reef

wow...nice. I really am impressed with this project. If the one fan blowing in and the one fan blowing out doesn't work try putting both fans on one side and have them blow out, I know it sounds wierd but so long as there are some slits on the other side this works fairly well for the setup...

get some foam or a towel or something to support the bottom of your tank this time too. Might help distribute the weight.

    leakage...

I really think you should empty it and then real resilicon the inside of the tank and then add styrofoam support under your bottom pane. It's annoying but at least this way you don't risk a total blow out. It may only be a matter of time before the stress gets to be too much and breaks the...

    DIY 20.8 gallon cube...

well glad the tank holds water but I think when your water get closer to the MH your heat will raise quite a bit, but your room is cold so who knows? Did you end up putting a piece of foam under the tank? Sorry that you didn't get the responses you were looking for though. Just keep posting...

    need some help

I think loc-line only comes in 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", and 2.5" sizes. Might have to go with a reducer to use 3/4" loc-line products.

    Nano Chiller....

I like the Teclima but I vote for the Pacific Coast chiller. The flow being 80gph on the Pacific Coast chiller but 120-180gph on the Teclima. (plus it's cheaper)

    Changing tanks

I'd play it safe and let the fish stay in your 5 gallon while your 29 gallon cycles...but that is just me :cool1: If you don't want to run a sump maybe you could put in a piece of black acrylic in one corner and have holes all through it to hide your heater? Not really sure if it's feasible...
