    24G Aquapod Setup Today. Questions!!!

Very nice but let me dispel a common misconception. The water does not cycle. The bacteria we need in our fish tanks lives in the rock and sand. You could replace all the water and it not a have major impact on the bacteria. What was in the old water and what is in the new water play a huge...

Ahh I think I know what you are talking about. It's a small square? If so there is a separate controller (but it's PRICEY).

Encouraging Ocellaris Clownfish pair to host an anenome

Yep, read the same things...after I bought the anemone. But it's a beautiful anemone, I'm thinking of getting a porcelain crab for it.

    Maroon Clown

LOL I have a mandarin that eats prepared foods (two mandarins actually, and both eat prepared foods). And a couple dartfish, plus a Kole tang that just may leave the tank and slap me if I don't feed it once daily. Definitely mix up the food. I love Rods food (I use the vegi mix for...

    24G Aquapod Setup Today. Questions!!!

If that first picture is still in tank then I would remove. +1 to everything else. If you have a spike in your cycle (and 99% of new tanks do), you may have an issue with your inverts.

    Water check

I would think so, but I'm just guessing as no nitrite test. But it's a pretty safe guess at 4.5 weeks. Did you have a spike in ammonia at any time?

    3 Gallon Pico Reef

LOL nope. I didn't realize it. I am seriously tempted to get one of these little tanks. How is the temperature holding out without a heater?

    Maroon Clown

I feed once a day ... even for my 90 gallon tank. Some people feed twice (but smaller portions). Portion size is key, if they don't finish all the food in like 3-5 minutes then there is too much food being added.

Encouraging Ocellaris Clownfish pair to host an anenome

sigh... I have had a nice GBTA and a pair of ocellaris clowns for a while... 3+ months and they don't want to play nice for me. Time is all I know, if you find a trick then please share. P.S. My wife had to talk me out of duct taping them together...

    air bubbles

Before adding carbon to you tank it is best to place the carbon is water that is not in your tank. Besides fizzing up it can alter ph and such, generally a good idea to dunk the carbon to wet it out of the tank, then add it to your tank. For the sand time and good husbandry will generally...

    New water question

It all depends on what the plastic is made out of. Some plastics do well and others don't. LDPE is a type of plastic that doesn't leech out any phosphates and does well. The rubbermaid BRUTE containers are a good example of this type of plastic.

    3 Gallon Pico Reef

I love it when there is another tank to hold stuff! Just have a plan to get the inhabitant out of the tank. LOL I put in three fire fish in my 90g and I couldn't get ANY of them out later on. Even after removing the rock! They hid IN one of my rocks. Slipperly little buggers... :razz...

Ammonia High + PH Low everything else perfect - Help Please

Looks like a cycle was kick started. Time is your best bet. The tank is just settling in. My vote is let the cycle run then water change. for the PH you can open the tank top (if it's closed) and adjust the flow so that the water top is agitated to help with air exchange. By the way...

    Newbie needs some help

Very nice, I have heard great things and some not so great things on turbos. Eat like pigs, but I have heard some things about their life span in our tanks not being great. Plus in a nano they migh knock stuff over. I like margarita snails for glass and I am reading up on tronchus (sp?)...

Newb with Aquapod 24 fan question

Sounds like you don't mind checking out some things. So if it is the transformer, most electronic stores sell ac - dc converters "wallwarts" (I think that is how some people refer to them) and you can at least power the fan from it's own connection. Just check all electrical information first...

    LR from the ocean...

Basically after a while the tank just isn't quite up to snuff. It's one theory, not gospel.
