Rich, where are you from in the UK? I used to live in London a while ago. I agree with taking down the tacky-looking backing on the tank. I always just paint mine black.

I've been using Oceanic for about a year now and I like it. It dissolves in about 4 minutes.

My advice as well...just keep the lights off. One time I did keep only actinics on which seemed okay. The idea was to not lose any coralline growth on the live rock. Not sure if that really helped or not but just an idea.

Well, I had a pretty decent sized hydnophora in my 20 gal for over a year and its health steadily declined. I think this was due to two conditions: Low light (PCs in my 20 gal) and low flow. I've since learned that this species prefers very strong light and strong to intermittently strong...

Updated the pics...pretty cool progression. I started with one hairy shroom on Monday and had three by Wednesday!
