I mix my water in a 5 gallon bucket and let it stand over night, with a heater in it. wash the heck out of the sand, till the water is clear......just in case it's still alive, use salt water.

sur is..... I have had it from time to time, but it was never a problem. I just left it alone and over time it was gone.....I am guessing between the clean up crew and it just not liking my tank.

You will love the 10...... It will seem like twice as much room as the 5...... :razz:

You want quick and easy..... I am impressed, so far, with the stock nanocube 6.....stay with the low light softies and do your 10% water change each week. Of all the tanks I have set up over the years(like 25+) I would say this has been the closest to plug and play...... :lol:

and the best part of it...... almost all of it has been good advice!!! Keep up the good work.....

The 6.6 that I have set up, does go through make up water at a pretty good pace. I have to add almost 12 oz. of water a day.

I don't use one, but find the idea very intreaging...... :razz:

I keep like 20 in my 10 gallon, of the little ones. never had a problem either. Ed, I am wondering why the tank gets so cloudy? Was the sand washed before you put it in?

I would go with the wait and see, there is no reason to kill them so soon. There is always time later.... :twisted:

They called it pre cured rock, but will still give you a cycle...... go with the testing like sadielynn said and you will be adding things in no time.... :razz:
