Chris, try placing him on the sand bed and see if it might take a small piece of meaty food for you. Hope it helps.

    My first reef tank

I wouldn't say that it is toxic, more like when you cut them or burst them in certain cases spores are released that can travel through the water column and settle down anywhere.

    My first reef tank

You'll love your order from MarineFlora :cool1: Having it go sexual is an issue as well, but more worried about it invading your display rock. They will send off runners that attach in the crevices of the rock and it is very hard to get it all out for a clean look later on.

    My first reef tank

You're tank is looking great Gloo! The only thing I can advise right now is to be careful with the caulpra in the maintank, try to contain it to the fuge. Once the caulpra gets a foothold on the LR in your maintank it can be very hard to get it back out. ;) Keep the pictures coming!

    How Much Live Rock??

Normally we use 1-1/2 lbs per gallon, but go easy enough because as you get frags most are attached to little pieces of LR so you'll need room for those.

Just be careful of the additives that you are using. The rule of thumb is to not dose anything that you can not test for. Keep us updated! :D

    A Refugium's Diary

It looks like the growth is progressing nicely. The water changes that you mentioned, are those for the main tank or the fuge. Also are you testing for the levels prior to adding these particular additives?
