i ahve to same problem with hair algae. i take all necessary precautions and i still get it. i think its just one of those things that unless you have something in the tank that can control it , its just going to keep coming. i even have taken the LR out broke off the piece with the hair algae...

sorry to hear about your loses :cry: damn ich :twisted: :evil: never ending battle. the one thing that i do is suppliment garlic once a week, to help fit it off. so far so good

i have great coraline growth in my tank and i was running 120w over a ten, now its still growing fast and i have 70w MH and 80w PC. i thought i had to much light.

glad to hear you got the problem under control. i wish it was thta easy in nanos, i just end up using an old toothbrush.

great pics i loved my GBTA, until it split acouple of times. no i have a BTA but there is no coloring, cloudy with really bright neon green. will try to have pics of him soon.

i forgot to mention, it happens to my small gobies all the time. i had them in there for weeks before i even noticed. they are all still alive and healthy.

i believe they made a small net out of pantyhose and a coathanger. i have had the same problems and all i did was get a big enough hose and syphon him out into a container. works evreytime. HTH

not yet still debating, plus i have some other stuff i need to invest in.lol

ok heres my opinion...... i have current lights as my PC's, really like the dual actinic bulb, not so fond of the daylight, switch daylight for 50/50 (best thing i have done in awhile) not to blue but not to white, almost perfect). another thing i didnt like the white moonlight that much, but...

i would put all of it in the new tank, JMO. if its way to much you can take some out of the new tank before adding old sand. everytime i switch tanks i just use thew old sand and if i need more i just add new. HTH

well i have two PC's, took the third out to fit MH. with all three running its bright and kind of white. so i turned off the 50/50 and left the dual actinic on w/ the MH. perfect just where i like it. very little blue, but not to much.......just enough to make those colors pop out. the MH alone...
