    Fish in a 12 Gal

Sorry, but the type of fish you choose may determine whether a 12g is acceptable or not. Types abc may be fine together but types def may not work. Usually when someone asks a newbie question like how many fish can I put in a tank, it shows a lack of understanding on this point. So the...

    Seahorses.....

http://www.seahorse.org No. You can't put a regular sized seahorse in a pico. Dwarfs might work, but their feeding requirements keep most people from trying to keep them. They also need to be fed fairly heavily, so the tank should be overfiltered, which may be problematic in a pico...

    Recommened Test Kit?

I use fastest, and salifert. Salifert is by far the most accurate tests out there, but they're pricy. B

    New fish for my 5.5

Mysis, flake, brine, cyclopeeze, krill. It seems to eat pretty much anything. Sorry I missed the question in the original post. B

    NanoCube users....I need some advice

I'd ditch the coralife powercenter and get the ballasts replaced if they're under warranty. It's flat out safer than trying to rework them, unless you're a master electrician. B

    Ballast warming up

If the ballasts aren't heating up when they're plugged directly into the wall, then I'd say the coralife is definitely the problem. B

Boudster's 10.4 Gallon Quad Chamber Nano

I think it depends on what you decide about the Harlequin. Personally I'd go for a Harlequin pair, the seahorse/s, and a shimp/goby pair, and then let it be for awhile and make sure that it's really stable. Then again if I were running a fish business outta my house I might try to get my...

    Fish in a 12 Gal

Still a good choice if you don't plan on keeping shrimp. Then again it may not ever bother them. I had my six line in with a sexy shrimp, skunk cleaner, and peppermint, and it never bothered any of them. B

    New fish for my 5.5

Yep, Just red-headed goby. Elacatinus puncticulatus. Mine has been acting a bit odd lately. It comes out and eats, but it's staying in the rockwork a lot more than it used to. No signs of ich or scratches, torn fins etc... B

    Ballast warming up

It sounds strange to me. I'd try a regular powerstrip with a timer and see how the ballast does. B

    GSP....food for brittlestars?

The majority of bristleworms are harmless. I wouldn't worry about it. I do the same thing syphoning when I see detritus on my sandbed. Your nitrate level is well within the acceptable range. B

    GSP....food for brittlestars?

I don't know what the planaria syphon method is. Planaria are flatworms. :???: If you've got fish, and no refugium, the only way to keep nitrates down to zero is frequent water changes. 5 isn't really that high, not something I'd worry about anyway, but if you want it to zero you should...

    GSP....food for brittlestars?

No problem. It sounds like it's probably healthy then. Since this is your first coral I'll ask again. ;-) What are your water parameters? How are you acclimating your new purchases? B

    Cycling..

The 12dx would be fine if you want to keep mushrooms, softies, and some LPS. SPS, clams, and anemones would require modding it to get a lot more light. $3.99lb for fiji is an excellent price for some areas, standard for others. Another good thing about buying rock from the LFS is that you...
