Glass lids can cause high temps and can block oxygen exchange in some tanks. They will cut down on the amount of PAR making it into the tank as well. Jesse

Do you have a link to the T5 lighting you are considering? I would also possibly reconsider the Rio pump... some people have had big problems with thier larger pumps. Jesse
