well the frag swap is over and i just can't believe how great this year turned out to be for us
we had so much fun - the auction was a blast
i sold all my frags and scored about 10 new corals ie - i went there with no money and left with no money :) but boy did i get some new eye candy!
here is a sample:
this is a hoek - a coral i have been seeking for over a year

this is the acan that broke the budget :)

the deep water is a LE ORA that dawn insisted i buy (she was right - it is really cool!) and the rest i got from other hobbiest - i really love the purp polyp nasuta, the baby blue stag is very unique and the blurry one is a crayola plana

thanks guys - i'm getting there - it's been 2 1/2 - 3 years since i started my journey into an SPS dominated tank but the time is finally almost here....
the zoas went to fiji and the softies are in the hex. i will keep the clams and many of the LPS's in the 125 adding color to the sand bed. i still have 2 SPS corals on my all time wish list but otherwise i like... :)
new tank pics, i will get the new corals i got last weekend mounted in a week or two but here is the scap as it is today...... it will be nicer when the newest frags come out of the sand bed and get mounted on the rock where they belong
sorry i still can't do FTS shots yet:

from the time i set up till may '04 this tank was a standard mixed garden reef with just a random collection of corals. then i bought my first SPS and have slowly been working my way across the tank replacing all the inhabitants. it is now basically finished - just growing out. i'll be posting some new pics soon

region around my pink milli

region around my green milli

region around the hoek and tort

a veiw down the tank

the leathers now in the 35 hex

the zoas and shrooms in the nano

nothing special, i have a 130W PC fixture (rebuilt from an old fixture actually) and a HOB with a glued in overflow box. i was running a remora on it but moved that to the zoa nano for now
hex tanks are very hard to light and smaller ones are even worse. PC's are about your only option here and DIY will allow you to build it to the size/shape you need. when i was running this tank with SPS in it i used a MH pendent

Well mine is like a 29gal hex with the top choped I just can't decide what kind of filter to run I will prob put MH on it.
