i just got done changing out bulbs so i thought while i had the canopy off i'd give you a peak under the hood
lighting is
3 PFO 24" parallel reflectors cut to fit into the canopy
2 6' VHO actinic bulbs = 320W
2 4' VHO actinic whites = 220W
1 MH 10K ushio = 175W
total = 715W

where the two 4' white bulbs are i use to run 2 65W 10K PC's while i was waiting to be able to afford to get my icecap ballast repaired. this is my newest combination. over the past 13 years i have run this tank with 6 NO flourescents, 3 5' VHO's, 2 6' VHO's and 2 4' NO's, and many other combinations till i finally got to this set-up.
now lets see what my electric bill costs me :???:

heres a look at my new flourescent green zoas i got at the swap they really glow under actinic lighting - these may just end up being my new favs. also not the ring zoas to the lower left of them - i'm still not quite sure what to think of them yet but they certainly are different then anything else i have

thanks
i love the new scape - don't know what i'm going to do every sunday morning cause i think i finally have it where i want it - it is so hard to get away from the reef wall look in a big tank - but i've always wanted a more natural look with more sand, a break in the rock, steep angles, and even hide a coral or two so you have to search for them
the soft end - i wanted to wait till the yellow leather was open but hes crabby today

and this is a zoa i got a month ago - just starting to color up nice
