I just use a Pentax Optio S5i. It takes pretty good macros, is the size of an altoids can, has an aluminum body, many presets, I can manually adjust the WB, ISO etc. I dont usually mess with the lighting, although sometimes I shoot with just the blue lights on. Thanks for the compliments.

If I had to do it all over again, I think I may have stepped up to an SLR type camera like a Canon Rebel or Nikon. But that's not to say I dont love my little point-and-shoot!

Well, some of you know that this camera took a dive into my tank. It hasnt come back to life since.

SOOO..... it was time to replace it. I picked up the new Panasonic Lumix FZ8 and so far I love it.

Here are some quick macros of my new Rockstar Supernovas...

Hey Jesse, I have a quick question for you. I was just looking at the picture of the bulbs your running. I was curious why you are running two of the ATI Blue plus? I just bought another 2x54 for my 60 but I need a fourth bulb and was thinking of doubling up on the whiter bulb.... Ben at Coral Oasis suggested this to me. What are your thoughts?

BTW those Rockstar Supernovas are pretty sweet. I thought you were going all SPS though? Isn't that the title of the thread? :???:

I personally like a blue tint. If you go with 2 white lamps and 2 blue lamps, the result will be very white. I love the blue plus lamps because they have nearly as much PAR as the best daylights but have a nice 20,000k+ spectrum.

I coulnt pass up pieces like the Jokers or the rockstars... thats why I got them.

I guess now would be the time to announce that this tank is pretty much no more. I just have a couple more pieces left... one of the croceas, the neon toadstool, some very small zoanthid frags, a YWG. As soon as that stuff is gone I will be tearing down the tank. As of right now I have no plans of setting up another tank. I will most likely be having to move in the next month or so. After we have settled in somewhere else I plan on setting up a heavily planted 40g that I recently picked up. I'll keep everyone updated. I'll still be around here... no plans on leaving the site!
