The growth has seemed to remain the same, although it has only been less than 2 months I believe with the T5's so it hasnt really been long enough to tell.

Sorry, no new FTS lately.

A little bit of an update though.

I recently picked up Steven's (dragon79) three fish... a cherry-head goby, neon goby and 4-line wrasse. They hadcome under an ich attack and have been in quarantine for about a week now. I have been treating them with hyposalinity... right at 1.010. They have all made a huge recovery and should be good to go in another couple weeks. They all eat very well twice a day. So here are a few pics...

They all have a couple ich spots still but NOTHING like they had before treatment.

Now, MIKE, you may have some competition for this orange plate... this thing is INCREDIBLE. Now I just have to figure out a way to pay steven without my wife finding out! The colors are very accurate and it is slightly deflated in this pic...

I am also sitting this calaustrea...

... and this brain...

So steven, everything is doing VERY well and transitioned wonderfully!

The only things I KNOW that I am keeping are the two gobies. I need to find a home for the wrasse, the calaustrea, the brain... hopefully the plate has found its home in my tank! Gotta talk to mike about that though.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Jesse,

I haven't forgotten about the plate... Your new fish look very healthy and will be so happy in their new home... I will be driving down to LA next week to drop off family and will make plans with you to pick up Steven's plate...

I've just been soo busy setting up a 54 gallon reef tank for a good friend of mine, you guys will love this one; I have full set of pics...

I'm looking forward to seeing your tank up and personal and cannot thank you enough for holding the plate for me.... :)

I owe you Jesse....

... the plate. Giving that thing up is going to be like giving up a foster child. Seriously. But I guess it has to be done.

Everybody thinks that my tank is something great to behold............its not. Just dont want you to get your hopes up! lol

Let me know when you are in town.

Oh BTW... the wrasse and neon goby decided to die on me... out of the blue. I was pretty pissed considering I COULDNT WAIT to get that neon into the tank but it never happened. Now my YWG came up with some sort of sore on his back so he is in quarantine now with the Cherry head goby... I think I cross contaminated my tank......

...phew, this hasnt been easy with these fish. I have other corals that are Stevens that he may want you to take too...

also just wondered I never saw in your post what the flow rate was????in my reading they say it should be 4-5 time tank capacity( just curious) but anyways great job & hope you are having a fantastic holiday

Sorry, no new pics just yet.

Wow Jesse, that plate!!!!!!

Any ideas on what happened to the fish?
No, dont really have an idea. Actually, the neon goby looked the best out of all of them. The worst was the cherry-head and he seems to be getting better slowly. Im most pissed about my buddy the yellow watchman goby. I guess I cross-contaminated and my YWG has a sore on his back now...

Happy holidays to you too! The pom pom seems to be doing great. I see him almost every night and he has come out only twice during feedings and ate right out of my hand... quite aggressivly actually. He is in the main display, not the fuge.... I dont have anything other than chaetomorpha and some red grape kelp in the fuge.. IMO you shouldnt have any inverts like hermits, snails, shrimp, etc in the fuge.

I know that I would do EVERYTHING different if I was to do it over again, jusst dont know exactly what that would be... sorry, its a bad answer. I have about 650 gph from the return pump and that is after the SCWD. I would like to increase that to 1,000gph maybe with a CL. IMO/IME, I would suggest starting at about 30x-40x turnover for your tank.. that is a good starting point. For example, in a 10g tank you should start out at around 300gph-40gph. The key is to distribute that flow, create a turbulent flow by directing powerheads towards each other.

I dont find myself out your way very ofter... its been about 5 years. If I do come out that way, I gotta stop by and say hi.

Talk to everyone later,

Jesse

Looks like I paid off a debt with Jesse... He adopted the orange plate coral, it just wasn't right for me to pull it from his tank on a long drive back to the SF bay area...

Anyway, I took several pics of his beautiful tank and wanted to share a couple; I also took some video that shows off the tranquility of his tank but the file is very large so I'll upload it another day..

Hope you all enjoy. And special thanks to Jesse for having me over...

WOW  The colors of those three last pictures are incredible. I like that orange zoo colony you have. Your sand bed is really clean. Do you dose or use any equipment to remove phosphates?

Thanks! THose orange zoas are actually fire-n-ice zoas. I have a large amount of chaeto that I trim monthly or so... that helps alot with pest algaes. I also have the flow setup so that there is a small amount going along the sand bed which helps to remove any detritus that might settle.
