Nice , I like it now with the live sand . I always thought that I was seeing colors befor but since you admit that it was green I now feel sane again . I think the sand had a silica base it will cloud the water

Thanks everyone. The light on their skip came with the tank.. there was no name brand on it. It came with a 50/50 13 watt bulb. I just recieved the new light    So its a coralite 12 inch with 2 x 18 watt 50/50 bulbs!!! Since I had a problem getting it, now there's the problem of the legs he gave me came with a shortage of 3 screws missing along with the metal adapter for each of the three legs  So there's good and bad... everyone was out of this light so I'm kind of happy that I got it.
So if the rule of thumb is 4 watts per gallon, won't I fry everything with this? Cause its 9 times that rule of thumb? Again I have a 4 gallon tank :?: If it is too much I can always transfer it to the 5 gallon and bring the 18 watt to the 4 gallon.
But my main tank is going to be the 4 so if leaving it there would be fine then I'd be more than happy

Eddy did you have a chance to go to "Tongs"... Thanks

Sadie... I was so frustrated looking at the cloudiness of the water. Did water changes, got chemi-pure, change the filter pad, cleaned the glass hoping it was smuged. Nothing worked  So I went to the LFS and got water and LS. If this didn't work saltwater tanks weren't for me ha,hah,ha  I'm just glad it worked or I'd be banging my head think of myself as a failure....

Never look at it as a failure look at it as working the "kinks" out every new tank has kinks plain and simple . Some times you have to tear it down and start from square one been there done that

And they are not problems, more like challenges to overcome when thing start happening. I don't think the light will be too much for your tank if you acclimate it to the new light.

Just got my Coralife light fixture :loveface Didn't think it was going to be that drastic of a change, now I have 36watts going to my 4 gallon nano. :banadance: Plus I'm waiting for some Corals from Eddy too..... Here's the tank now...

I just found out on a smaller powerhead on accident for nano's too! Just $10 for a powerhead that suppose to be for a 2 to 10 gallon tank. Plus you can buy it wallmart which I did. I'll post it on the DIY forum. Looked through the whole forum and didn't see it. My first DIY hope it helps people.

Thanks Erik... Determining whether or not I should get my first fish? It'd been close to two months after my cycle. One month and a week with LR and two weeks with cleaners, I think it maybe longer. But I leave sunday for two weeks for training  I guess I'll wait cause I don't trust my roomate to feed him/her. I think I'd rather be safe on this one.... Thanks again

yeah thats righ is really hard to trust someone else to take care of your tank and keep testing your water until everything is at cero then you're ready for fish and also your tank looks great.....

With the picture above can anyone help me out with the positioning? I got the word last night since I'm still gone (two weeks coming up) about a brown fuzzy filament on my zoas and their not opened up. I know I have my 35 watt coralife light on from 11-12 hours a day so I was thinking it was algae? I told my girlfriend to get the turkey basser and try to squirt it off. She did that and it worked but she had to do it 2-3 times gently as possible.
Sadie stated it would be my tanks flow and positioning of the rio 50. So if any of you think I would need a better pump please tell me or even a better was to position the Rio. Its only a 4 gallon so I have the fuge already and the 50. Thanks

Island it is hard to say with the photo but placement seems ok
could she move the power head to the front of the tank for a temp position that would constantally blow over them she may need to adjust the flow to a lower setting hopefully others will have some ideas for you

:anxious :cryinga: I got two clowns 2 days ago and found one this morning dried up on the carpet! I have never heard of this or read about any clowns jumping out of a tank! I thought one of them was behind the rocks so I just sat there waiting. Not noticing the floor, so I looked on the side of the tank and even threw in food. My mind then said maybe he jumped out. There and behold was the clown dried up! Has anyone heard of such a thing! UNBELIEVABLE
