Well said on the mandrin , They require a system that will give them lots of natural food . If you are looking for nutrition try some (use very little ) cyclop -eeze . If your fish are addicted to brine try soaking for a bit like 20 minutes or so in selcon .
As for the fish I would say a small perc or occ clown fish . You are comming along great . The feather duster should be ok in your system the one word of caution tho is they seem to be a bit sensitive so try to add them near the end this way they dont get stressed ...... for snails we have the nasserious (sp)and some turbos in ours they seem to do well keeping it in check what they miss I hit on saturday cleaning

I just put a mdium bag of chemi-pure in my tank and the cloudness is still there? I tested my waters and my nitrate and ammonia was up? I tested my waters yeasterday the same time I put the chemi-pure in  I tested my water this morning and saw the levels shoot up  Why did this happen? I didn't add anything to the tank? I took my fuge out and washed the chat of and cleansed the rubble with oceanic water and did at 10-15% water change. Hopefully this works? Is there a particular way to set the chemi-pure?

Last but not least... I just got some LS from ebay and the sand smells rotten  I don't think its suppose to smell like that, as if something died? Please verify... Thanks everyone...

Did you put the sand in your tank if so you probably set it into another cycle I would venture to guess that if you added anything new to your tank you are having a cycle . Give it a few days then retest it sounds like a cycle  As for the sand wait and see what others say the smell indicates die off of some sort . Was it used sand ?

I'm thinking it was cause it stated from an established tank. The only thing is that it took four days to get to me... So it could have possibly died? So I'm taking it that anytime you push sand around a cycle will be setoff? Please educate me on this if possible, Sadie... and Happy V-day too... Thanks for helping me out.

yeah that sounds like the new sand disturbed the water by getting all cloudy but be patient and chemi pure will clear your water eventually in some days and let the things settle and will be better and looks like the sand introduced amonia to your tank and as you know then becomes nitrate.....so youll have to wait again cause you'll have a small cycle again.... and just i tip that work for me wenever you want to introduce live sand .... take some water from your tank and rinse the sand .... 4 to 5 times if posible with more water of your tank so you remove any dust and dead things so you dont get that much of amonia and then use a cup and put some sand in the cup and then slowly add it to your tank but trying to not disturb that much the sand and little by little put the sand, dont rush i did that to replace my LS when i got some weird black are red slime some months ago and i even add more than what i took out and i didnt have any amonia or nitrate spikes cause i did it really slow and little at a time not full cup at once... HTH 4 next time....

It will set off a cycle no doubt was it packed in water or just sand if it was and had no water , I guess either way my opinion would be :I would say dont use it . Cut your losses on it but that is just my opinion . I would just get Live Ag sand in place of this stuff no telling what that sand was subjected to or what diseases could be introduced to your tank .

Thanks Eddy... I'm looking at Goby's online but the main factor is wether or not the LFS's have any that I'd like. I just did the water change so I'm waiting for crystal clear water  I'm waiting to buy some corals but they all seem so expensive... How much is a good price especially when it comes to little amounts for a nano? I'm going to post something in the sales forum to see if anyone has any frags to sell.... Thanks for everything

Thats true Sadie... I'm gonna throw it out and start new. I'd rather be safe! How long should I wait before I can add any corals, then fish? Thanks again

Prices depend on your area in local to what ocean they come from
Every so often I can grab something under 15 bucks but usually here in pa they are expensive

I THINK you can introde something after your little cycle ends all the elements 0 and then wait a week to be sure and then put something and then wait another week to introduce something else and so and so on.....and coral are really pricei but you can get some frags for cheap to bad that our LFS in CA is not near to you cause tongs has some good frags at $5 , 10 , 15 and 20.

if im not wrong i spend only in corals mmm if im not wrong for know $550 and not including chaeto or red grape algea...... and still adding ...well just zoo's...

Yeah, I'm trying everything possible to get some small frags at good prices. I'm looking on www.craigslist.com in my area but people who are selling live about 2 hours away but I guess its worth it if I bought 3-5 of them and came back immediately. I see them going for 10-20 a piece but I'm sure they can give deals.

I just go to http://www.craigslist.org and to the right side you see "cities" that you can choose from. Select the city. Once picked it may say Los Angles for you. Then click on "For Sale" this will then lead you to a new page that will have a "SEARCH". Just put in words that would help you find frags. Like frags, Reef, Coral etc.. I just checked for you Eddy but there aren't any frags but tanks for sale under "Coral" maybe they'd sell their corals? Good luck..

Thankd for the site. The only thing about online is that the prices are cheap but shipping is the main cost. I hate it when shipping cost more than the item purchased. Just like going to a mechanic, its a $100 part but you pay $300 for installation. :D :D :D
