funny you should mention that it just happened to me with my car parts where 125 and the bill was 345 funny how that works but about the site it dont sound to bad the people I have inquired to about some of their frags their shipping qoutes arent to bad over night from VA to NY was only 11.35 which is alot better then the stores sites another place to check would be ebay do a search for live corals there are pages filled with them. hope that helps.

I was looking at my tank and wanted to know if needed to add a powerhead? Its going into the 4 gallon tank but the fuge with the 20 impellar to me doesn't create that much of a water flow? It does but its not much. If anyone built one of these fuge's or seen the current produce please verify if this is okay? Other wise I'm looking at a 606 mini jet or a SELF-ROTATING POWERHEAD/WAVEMAKER 212.... Never heard of a wavemaker on the forum but sounds pretty good. Thanks

hey islandcreation are you talking about something like this

http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.p ... opic=58149

cause if you put something like that that will be cool i forgot about this idea ill doit shortly. and what i say there is never enough flow ..... but i dont know your tank is so small i dont thinks need something so powerfull and even the minijet 606 will be too much of flow but it would work just keep and eye on it and if too much you can lower the gph...

Eddy there's nothing smaller than a 606, I thought I saw a 404 online too? I'm looking at the tank now and it makes my AQ skimmer top move and its on the opposite side where the fuge lets water out. The water surface circulation is there, the antenna on the hermits and snails move and their on the opposite bottom corner of the tank diagonal from where the waters coming from? Just trying to give as much info so I don't have to go out and spend more money... Plus, I don't want to get a powerhead and blow the entire tank away... So is there any other options? Again its only a 4 gallon so maybe I need to play it safe? I heard there was a spray bar that distrubutes flow evenly? My tank as so much already for what little room I have but what ever makes its thrive is worth it.
Last but not least the Chemi-pure has been in the tank for 1 and a half days now. And the waters still coudy, does it take this long? Here is the set up. I have the fuge and a baffle before entering the fuge. Right before the baffle is the chemipure surrounding the tube that comes from the tank into the fuge. So the water has to filter through the chemi-pure before entering the fuge. That should be okay right?

Thanks Andre... I'm just scared to put in something that will but too much. Eddy I just saw the article of the powerhead. And I have a thought

Since my AQ70 is a fuge and I changed the impellar to a 20 can I change it back to the 70 and create more chambers. Meaning I'd have a chamber for a filter, chemi-pure then my chaete w/rubble. It maybe a tight squeeze but it should be possible right? With all of these chambers I'm thinking the flow should be decreased but still be an improvement as for circulation in the main tank. Tell me what you think before I do something that I'm not suppose to do

The minijet 606 and 404 are mostly used as return pumps for very small tanks and I actually own the 606 model. I could be wrong, but I don't think they come with the suction cups and flow nozzle to be properly used as powerhead.

I found some specs for a good powerhead with the same flow rate as the mini jet 404, the only difference is that it can be used as a return pump or a powerhead. The dimensions at the bottom can help you determine how much space it will take inside of your tank.

http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem. ... uct=AS1111

Maxi-Jet 400 Powerhead / MP 400

V/Hz: 120V/60Hz
Wattage: 5W
Max Flow: 106gph
Dimensions: 3.5" L x 2" W x 3.00" H

Thanks again Andre. Yes it will fit but it will be where the current comes from the fuge. Will that make adiffrence? With 106gph will that be too much for my 4 gallon as in current wise? I'm not really that knowledge on GPH so I can't say if it will blow sand up? Or just be too powerful... Please info me about the fuge option to if it will work? Its on the previous replies :) If anyone can verify my fuge ides it would be greatly appreciated. I'd want to do it this weekend if I get enough okays.

Ideally the powerhead should be placed in the opposite direction from the fuge to create a more balanced current. These Rio pumps are less powerful and smaller, which should allow you to place them practically anywhere in your tank, with a choice of either 69GPH or 85GPH. As far as flow is concerned, that will not be over kill, the only thing if for you to determine if it will fit nicely for your purpose. I just saw your tank and I think the maxijet is a bit bulky for it's size.

Rio 50
69 gph
2.2" x 1.4" x 1.8"
5.3W

Rio 90
85 gph
2.25" x 1.5" x 2"
2.8W

What exactly do you want to know about your fuge?

Wether I can put the orginal impellar and just create more chambers for filtration. This will make the current slower due to more chambers filter,chemi-puren then chaete/LR? Or should I just add a powerhead for better current?

i was looking your pics and that thing next to the filter if im not wrong is a kind of skimmer that thing will do nothing for you if i were you take it out and about the flow dont complicate your life and just add a small pump like aromano mentioned and i thing the rio 50 will be more than enough really is only a small tank so that will doit ..... i was lost i thought you had a 12g cube sorry about that .....so keep it simple just add a small pump under the filter so the flow goes to the other corner (left side) and the filter will give flow in the right and front i think that will work.....

As some of you know I got a great deal on Craigslist... It was for a 5 gallon nano with about 12 pounds of live rocks and 12 pounds of LS. Algae and about 5 coralsn blennyn 7 nassarus snails and two others. Heater retro light 18watts now and whisper singray and filter. PLUS BRISTLE WORMS!

I always got sick of my tank being so cloudy. Tried Chemi-pure and no so luck after a week of using it. So I changed the green sand to live sand.

Before

Fuge items and live sand

After

Have a dispute about my 36 watt light with paypal. Seller states he sent it and gave me a tracking #, but # was invalid and its been two weeks. :censor

Sorry to hear about your light problem, hopefully it will be resolved soon. What kind of light is that you are currently using?
