The company I got mine from someone linked in an earlier post on this thread, I didn't have any problems getting mine. I did look at their feedback and all of the negatives they had up to that point had something to do with blood alcohol testers and most of the complaints were about the quality of the product itself. Hope you get yours soon. I went ahead and printed a conversion chart up to go in my box. Good luck, SKip

my box looks nothing like that. Thanks for sharing. As you seen from mine, you can see they are different. I'm glad you guys narrowed down as to where you got it and see where your money went toward what kinda product. Well I guess as long as you can do your conversion, you'll know, and of course that it's calibrated and working properly.

According to this site, they're made by a korean company, and the specs only mention celcius, although the faq mentions F.

I wasn't able to find any sites that mentioned changing it to read F. I sent them an email asking if you could change it though.

Man Incysor,

I have missed your post and so happy to have you posting back for us.... I swear it's like you have in your brain three search engines, Google, Yahoo and AskJeeves.

It's like the yellow pages, let your fingers do the walking....

The friggin holidays/work/marriage stuff is eating my lunch lately, which is why I haven't been on as much.

I'm hoping things settle down a bit in January/February.

There's a similar one on ebay for $59.95. It looks like the same product with the same packaging, but with a different seller's name on it. It's probably the same thing, just with a different label. ??? Not sure, just surmising. I've never used either one, so I'm not sure. But at that price, it's worth a try. I think I'll ring up Santa and have him send me one. :)

EDIT: At that price, I figured it was worth a try. So I bought one. I'll report back and let you know what I think of it as soon as I get it. They have another one listed, but it's $10 more. Go figure...

Here's the link:

You're kidding! Ooops, too late now. I already bought it. They have a good feedback rating -- 99.9%. I'll have to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. I hope I didn't just blow $67 for nothing!

Is it the same ebay seller that I bought from? Are they called "Beyondstore?"

I looked at their feedback, and they only have one negative mark.

I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope for the best. I'll report back after the transaction is concluded.

April,
That is the same Ebay seller I bought mine from. It looks like the same pics as well. I hope that you are lucky and they have the new ones in stock and not the imported one like I got. On the bright side though if it is the same one I have it does a great job with the exception of needing a conversion chart for temps. Skip

The one I bought on ebay measures temp in Fahrenheit, so this must be the new one??? Does yours measure in celsius?

"Digi-Spec-TSS Meter is an innovative 3-in-1 tool that incorporates digital tests for temperature (Fahrenheit), salinity (ppt) and specific gravity (e.g., 1.024) displayed in scales commonly used by aquarists without the need for conversions."

It also says, "**BRAND NEW** Digi-Spec TSS - Lab Grade Digital Temperature, Salinity, Specific Gravity Meter Retails at $149, same as JBJ DigiLab but 1/3 the cost!" ... so, it sounds like they are the same instrument, just with different labels.

I hope this turns out okay. I'll let you all know... fingers crossed. :)

Mine says in the literature that it reads both F and C but I haven't been anle to change from C so I think thats all it will read. If yours reads F then you have it made, all of the other readings are easy to obtain and seem to be accurate. Good luck, Skip
