My first Acro. I was told it's a tri color, but with a little research found that there are a few different kinds of tri color acros. Can anyone tell exactly what this is. I only see 2 colors as well.

I also got this purple hairy mushroom to compliment the green one recieved from Jesse's tank.

time to rearrange the tank again. my wife is fighting me on that because of my little damsel that is trying to get his female to breed. He keeps making little homes and I keep destroying them. Makes the little lady upset with me.

start the GFO slowly a couple tablespoons at most and then build up
What exactly does "GFO" stand for. The stuff I got doesn't say that. I need to get some good stuff but don't know what the best or most appropriate is.

Thanks.

GFO = granular ferric oxide
acro i don't know what it is but it is a very nice looking frag. tri color means 1 color for body 2 color for tips and 3 color of polyps. this valida of mine shows a common pattern tan body purp tips and green polyps:

Thanks. can you reccomend a brand for me? Some one on RC just did a study on his own fowlr with GFO and he had some sort of test meter and I guess this stuff works really well really fast. you should look into it if you havn't. It was interesting.

Thanks again. I'm excited for that frag to color up a little more.

We had a power outage last night. My worst fear for my tank.( probably is for most reefers) Anyway I'm just glad I was home and new about it before it happened. apparently our transformer was leaking coolant. I was taking out the trash and saw three big edison trucks outfront with a crane and a new transformer. It's my worst fear becuase my overflows take a couple of minutes to catch up with my return pump therefore I have a huge risk of overflowing onto the carpet and running my sump dry. I need to do something about that for sure.

I just sat there stiring the tank, trying to keep movement and keep it oxygenated. everything looks fine but I clipped my brand new Acro frag during the process. Just got a little lazy after an hour and a half. It should be fine.

I've got 10,000 points on my credit card..... as soon as I get to 100,000 they'll give me a lite weight generator. Honda. So in 5-10 years I'll be safe. :clapping:

My Wife is the greatest. She gave me me the perfect gift. 5 stage RO/DI with the Chloramine filter upgrade. I just set it up tonight and I'm so stoked that I don't have to go the my LFS twice a week for water anymore. Not that I hate my LFS. I just don't want to have to go.... you know?

Anyone looking for a good RO/DI? I highly recommend www.thefilterguys.biz. $240.00 for the 5 stage w/ chloramine upgrade a dual TDS and a PSI gauge including shipping. Best price I found online and their customer service is great. Plus they're reefers them selves.

Well.... Merry Christmas to me.

I was just looking back through my thread and noticed I haven't posted an FTS in a while. this picture is from September so it's a little old.... I'll get a new one up this weekend hopefully.

All the little fishes are doing really well with the exception of YWG. He won't turn yellow again. He's not getting picked on anymore he's just really scared all the time. Such a bummer because he was so mellow when you gave him to me. I'm thinking of getting rid of the damsels. They're evil fish and I really can't add any other fishes because of a pair of $2 fish. The only problem is that one of them is the very first SW fish I purchased. I've had her for over a year now. It's just her stupid boyfriend.

Anyway. The tank is good. I'm still fighting the hair and buble algae. it's not a horrible out break or anything. Just a few small areas that I keep having to scrub.

My frogspawn is getting so big and that hairy shroom you gave me is about 8-9 inches diameter now. so awesome. you can see it in the bottom right. Acro isn't doing that great either. Not sure why. Everything is testing fine.

My latest addition. Just got him tonight. I'm a little nervous about how he'll do with my territorial damsels but he's big enough they should leave him alone.

Well... after a looooong acclimation I put him in the tank with the lights out. I figured it would be better with everyone else asleep. Well my female watanabe apparently felt threatened and chased him around the tank for a little bit. after about 10 minutes he got sick of it and went under the sand. That is such a cool trick. I just hope they allow him to come out and play eventually. I'm surprised it was my angel though and not the damsels or the clown. Fish are strange.

Well I'm very sad to announce that my female watanabe jumped ship yesterday. She decided life wasn't worth it. Came home and couldn't find her anyway and all my other fish were hiding and acting really nervous. I lifted the hood and she was sitting on top of the cross brace all dried out. Must have jumped pretty early in the day. Anyway, I can't seem to find my blue spotted Wrasse that I added. I know he hasn't jumped out however he's hiding somewhere under the sand and rarely comes out. Hopefully with his nemisis now gone he'll start to show his face every once in a while.

yeah me too. I was totally bummed when I couldn't find her. I knew when I was lifting the lid she'd be there. I think she missed my male. Ever since he died she just hasn't been the same. She's the reason that blue spotted wrasse is hybernating. Before my male died she just wasn't that type of fish you know. She was so healthy and pretty. She will be missed, for sure. My wife almost cried when I told her.

I'm glad to say that my blue spotted wrasse has come out of hiding a few times. He still scares pretty easily. I stayed home yesterday and he came out for a couple hours in the morning. I just hope he's able to find food when he comes out. Anytime I come close to the tank he goes back under..... That includes feeding time. Also the YWG that Jesse gave me is starting to get some of his yellow back which is nice.
