A brief update for anyone who cares to read. I don't have copper in my tank. All my rocks are green. It's so disappointing because they were so white when I got them. I've got 25 hermits, 6 snails (1 Margarita, 2 turbos, 3 Astria) and 4 fish. Most of you are going to think I'm crazy when I say this but everything is going well and it's been 2 months now. 2 damsels, 1 Tomato clown and 1 gold striped maroon clown. They fought a little in the begining but no damage was done and the Tomato has shown that he is the king. I'm just hoping when the maroon gets bigger than the tomato that it's a smooth transition. I think the damsels are going to make some babies but with my lack of experience at breeding doubting that they'll survive.
I have some new coral ( frogspawn, xania, mushrooms and an elephant ear and random zoos that just showed up in my 12) and I've pretty much taken everything out of my 12 to put in here, which isn't much. I just left some rock, two hermits and two snails so I could keep it going. Just in case I need it. I've finally got the noise down and it's much more peaceful. Still not perfect but much better.
I'll post some pics tomorrow hopefully. Camera is in the car right now just in case my 39 week pregnant wife decides it's time to go.

Hey Cris, the rock may be turning green on it's way to becoming purple coraline. I have found that the white areas will become green and then that green turns into th edesirable purple algae.
Good to hear that everything seems to be doing well. How did you manage to solve the noise problem?

you had mentioned to me that when you had your drains turned at an angle they would get noisy as well. So I cut about 3/4" off the top and straightened it out. It still has a little noise but it's not that bad. I need to get the two leveled out a little better from side to side.

Yellow mimic tang
I'm a little bummed about the mimic. I asked what was different at my LFS between them and the Yellow tang and the guy just said it's more rare. I thought it was strange because rare usually means more expensive and that wasn't the case. I got home with him and added him to my tank then looked them up online. I found out that he's going to get ugly on me when he grows up. So I named him ugly.

OK here is the latest. The Yellow mimic tang died. I think he starved because he wouldn't eat anything but algae. My hermits do a pretty good job of keeping the algae down. So for my first Father's day my wife bought me a pair of Watanabe Angels. A male and Female. I really only wanted the female but he gave me a really good deal on both of them because he wanted to keep them together. I got them for $110 and I searched online and saw a male for as much as $250 and a female for as much as $100. I feel good about the purchase and they fill out my tank nicely.

I got em at Coral Oasis. I've been looking at them for a long time. He's had them for close to two months I think. I really liked the female and wanted to get just her but Ben inspired me to get both because it was my chance to get two angels that get along and are reef safe. So far they've adjusted really well. My damsels are pretty mad about them though. Those little guys are really territorial. I googled them and it seems as though they are kind of rare. That's pretty cool because they weren't priced too badly.

those are really cool and what little i've seen about them the LFS was right this time - they like to be kept as a pair
one thing though, now would be a good time to lose the damsels and at least one of the clowns. with a pair of fish like that they should become the focus and those damsels will never be happy with them and could harrass them into not acclimating to there new environment smoothly, and even that marron may hassel them in time once it gets bigger and decides on a territory to defend. not that you can't have a couple more fish but you should choose something very different shape/color/niche' wise, but ...... JMO

yeah my wife is going to be so mad when I tell her that we should return Ame and Fred the 2nd. (Our Damsels). Ame was the first fish we bought and we named her after our friend in Fiji that we met on our honeymoon. It's so funny because she makes fun of me for being so into it, but she gets so attached. She was so upset yesterday because my emerald crab was eating one of my margarita snails. Anyway I'll be sad about it too, but I'm going to give it serious thought. The females are the problem. I guess two sets of paired territorial fish in one tank could be problematic. The Angels are already eating really well so I'm pretty happy about that.
So after having them for almost 24 hours I have a few questions for anyone that knows Angels or even fish really well for that matter.

I'm curious if there are distinct behaviors that I should be looking for as far as "Acclimating Smoothly" They seem to be as happy as can be. Swimming around a lot and through every crevice that they can fit through and eating everything I put in the tank. To me that seems like they're very happy in their new home. What ailments should I be looking for to make sure everything is going well besides the positives I mentioned.
After reading about how they like to swim in and out of rocks and caves and what not and actually watching try to swim through every hole they can I've been inspired to completely redo my rock work so they'll have a few more places to swim and hide. I've got to buy another 20lbs or so of LR though. Any cautions I should be weary of? I'm definitely going to wait until they are fully acclimated before I add that stress on them.

I've had the watanabe's for almost a month now and they're great fish. They almost act like the "parents" of everything else in the tank. When my Clowns get irritated with each other the Angels will go swim inbetween them and keep them apart. I don't know if it's just coincidence or if they don't like the tension in their tank and they're trying to keep them calm. It's pretty obvious that all the other inhabitants have full respect for them. They go where ever they want and the others just watch. I thought there would be problems if they got to close to my tomato who is hosting a long tentacle, but he just sits back and lets them come as close as they want. The Gold Striped Maroon is by far the most honery fish I have and he's pretty chill with them too. As mentioned before my only concern is the tension between my two clowns. The tomato and the anemone have claimed the left end of the tank and sid my gold striped maroon has claimed the middle. So they're closer then they need to be. I mentioned before that I'm going to redo my rock work so I'll try to create homes a little farther apart for them. I did get a nice little quaterly bonus so I was able to get another 2x54 T5 fixture and I put it together last night. Although I'm only running 3 lamps untill what I want for the 4th. I purchased a really cool looking rock and a little frag of a monte cap. My first SPS. sorry I don't have pics yet, but I just got all this last night and I've got a bachelor party tonight and I'm going to Palm Desert to watch my baby while my wife takes care of the bachelorette. Her sister. Hopefully I'll get some picks up on Sunday.
Any advice on which bulb to sellect for my fourth would be great. I currently have the white one the deep blue and the medium blue. I don't remember the technical names sorry. actinic +, blue actinic and pure actinic? Don't remember.
Also advice or input for my first SPS the green montipora capricornus?
