My suction cups die really quickly and are a pain to replace. Is there a way to hang powerheads onto the tank with some kind of hook? I know a few come with clamps, but I want to be able to hang any powerhead I want.
What size magnet are you using? Depending on size magnet this could be either cheaper or more expensive than a few acrylic brackets.Physh1 said:One thing I really love to do is take some tank cleaning magnets (like the twister magnets) and silicone the inner magnet to the back of the powerhead, let it cure, then place it in the tank where you want it and secure it with the outside magnet. I've done this a lot and they last years. I've had a few set up this way for over 3 years....zero issues.

I'd silicone it. That way if you decide you want them seperated for some reason it should be easy to cut them apart. Like if your PH dies, and you need another. You don't want to have to buy the new PH and a new magnet. With the superglue They're gonna pretty much permanently welded together.djconn said:Do you prefer silicone over plain old super glue gel? I plan on doing this to 3 or 4 powerheads this weekend.
If you always us Maxi Jets then you can just superglue the bracket that the PH slides onto the magnet, thus only having to replace the MJ not the magnet....and no more glueing will be neededincysor said:I'd silicone it.
