    How much is too much?

THANKS. Thanks for your reply. I think I'm going to go with 2 daylights and 2 actinics. URI are the only vho bulbs I've ever used. I was able to keep and grow some sps in my old 75g reef with vho lighting. A friend of mine gave me a frag and I tripled it's size in the time I had it, so it must...

    How much is too much?

I'm planning out a 29g reef. The only things I'm certain of so far is that I want to use a second 29g for a sump and I want to reuse part of my old light kit. Except that if you ask for eggcrate the clerk will look at you like you just landed in a space ship. Last time I bought some they called it light diffuser panelling.

    clowns

I've got a pair of red saddle backs in a 10g. They're only an inch long and are being moved into a 20g long in January. They were bred by a friend of mine in a 20g long. He does use a sump system though. I'm not sure if that's necessary, but the extra volume is good.

Do you use a protien skimmer on your nano?

It's not a "protein" skimmer, it's just a "surface" skimmer. I bought one from Bigalsonline a few years ago when my cichlid tank was getting an oily surface on it.

    Hellolights gets an A+

I bought a 440w VHO system from them a couple of years ago. The price was reasonable and service was excellent. I'd definitly recommend using them.
