did you check the ph and the alk of the water to begin with. if it is already a basic(7.2 and higher) the salt will behave differently. it might take some extra aggitation to get it into solution. my bet is that you have residual calcium that is out of solution on the bottom of the tank.

if you can spare the cash, the new and cool MH is the coralife 150w with 20k bulb. wholla, you'd be good for anything. the item is totally self contained and looks just great. :mrgreen:

heres a dittle, I have a coralife 96w powerquad and Im going to be getting the current bulb as a replacement. Looks the same in terms of fit, just wodering how well the bulb is in terms of brightness and others.

light mod how did Dj get the metal arm off the light?just cut if off? I need to do that. As for the slime algae, I just take the filter out and clean the inside out real good. I have LR rubble in the filter, no media. That helps along with constant waterchanges....(their a snap by the way)...

nitrates? what are your params? Everybody says running sponges and media makes nitrate factories. What do you think? I like the filter though. Looks like a custom jobby. cool.

also you have the likely possibility of re-cycling your tank. You could flush out the nitrobacter and possibly have nutrient probs. May not happen but I would watch it closely. I think 50 percent WCs make more sense. IMO. But I do love the centropyge. killer pics. :D

I agree with the digis. I have the same kind. Way cool and way hairy. That rock has totally matured. I love the coloring. How long do you expect the digis to start growing. I read alot of literature and to no avail. Are they pretty slow?

ya know, this last year their was more evap during the summer months than of lately. I will have to see if it has changed or not. Usually I add about a gal. every two to three days. This is ofcourse the heaviest amount of evaporation that were talking here. But in like the winter and spring...
