Anyone know the best way to remove the blank coating on the back of a 29 biocube? Do I just razer blade it off?

I solved this problem by turning the 2nd chamber into a refug... I took out the filter and just filled the first chamber with live rock... I found a light that fits under the flap in the back so, I didn't have to modify anything. It's been running about a week now.

I have the 29 gallon, I had the same issue... when the filter pad was very dirty... the water gets pumped out of the last chamber faster then the water gets though the pad.

Should you keep the light for a Refugium on 24/7 or turn on and off with your main lights?

That was the way I was going to go... taking the black vinyl off the back and putting a light back there... I was looking for some detail on the insides of the 2nd chamber, for example... do I take out the bottom grate? How do I deal with the sponge at the bottom of the chamber? Do I need to...

I have asked this question a couple times, was looking to see if anyone knew where I could find a (how to) on turning the 2nd chamber into a fuge... but I never get a reply. I think I am going to try that, here goes nothing.

I am looking into changing the second compartment in the 29 gallon Biocube but I am not sure which would be best... I could just buy the 29 gallon protein skimmer or convert it into a refug... can someone help me, what are the pros and cons of either? Is one better then the other?

Shouldn't there be more live rock for the 29 gallon, it seems a little thin... I would think more live rock would help support the tank better? From the picture it seems a little thin.

I purchased a purple fire fish when I first set up my tank... I never saw her for 3 weeks, I even removed some of the rock to see if I could find the dead body to remove from the tank. So I went and purchased another one, that night I go and look at the tank and two purple fire fish are swimming...
