Peppermint shrimps...

I just got 5 of these bad boys hoping to control my aiptasia. I got them yesterday and haven't seen them since... Are they nocturnal? Tanks environment:

Clowns
six line
yellow tang
scooter blenny
4 damsels
algae goby

numerous corals but the purple tip anemone is gthe most aggressive. Thanks

i got a couple for the same reaason and they seem to like to find a cave and stay there for a while. they will come out eventually. Usually at feeding time. They havent been cleaning like the should but i saw them picking at the Apstasia once in a while. the apstasia is still there though.

They do like to hide. My first thought was the six line though. Mine is the reason why I don't have shrimp as it becomes an expensive snack.

It is quite normal for new occupants tio hide until they have acclimated to the tank, this is especially true if you have fast moving or aggressive tankmates. They usually get used to their surroundings and become more visible within a few days unless someone is being a bully.

So far nothing? Its been 3 days so far and no sign of any of the 5 peppermints? Not even any remains if they ended up as expensive food? I made it a 10 minute priority to watch the tank and nothing. Weird so far?

I purchased a purple fire fish when I first set up my tank... I never saw her for 3 weeks, I even removed some of the rock to see if I could find the dead body to remove from the tank. So I went and purchased another one, that night I go and look at the tank and two purple fire fish are swimming together... I had a peppermint shrimp that also only comes out when a specific snail is out on the sand, then I see him hanging near the snail. Sometimes animals can just act different from what you expect.

Have a look under your rocks and try that at night. Take a flash light and point it in the crevases. I couldnt find one of mine for almost a week and i thought he was a goner. He was hiding under a rock.i could just see he tentacles. he also got caught in my power head and nearly became shredded food for everyone else. tough little guy.
