Fuge for a BC 29

Any ideas of what type of fuge or how to setup a fuge for a BioCube 29.

Any one using a HOB style?? I have heard of people converting the 2nd chamber to a Fuge but I was thinking of putting in a Skimmer there and was wondering what my options would be for a fuge than.

Thanks

I have asked this question a couple times, was looking to see if anyone knew where I could find a (how to) on turning the 2nd chamber into a fuge... but I never get a reply. I think I am going to try that, here goes nothing.

I've found that if you go through the archives on this site and some of the older postings you can find most of the answers to your questions. The link above is for a 12 gallon but it should work the same for a larger cube.

My LFS sells small submursable lights that you can put directly into the converted fuge. Don't know who makes them or anything else about them though, sorry.

Good luck. :)

HOB Fuge

I have gone a head and ordered a CPR HOB fuge(Medium) and it is workin gout nice. I can already see the pods in my tank.

I have the 29 Biocube and this thing works perfect fitting into Chamber 1 and 3

Hope this helps

I have seen people remove the black vinyl from the rear glass and mounting a light to the rear of the tank so that is shines into the chamber with the macroalgae and anything else that you want in your fuge. Seems to work pretty well.

That was the way I was going to go... taking the black vinyl off the back and putting a light back there... I was looking for some detail on the insides of the 2nd chamber, for example... do I take out the bottom grate? How do I deal with the sponge at the bottom of the chamber? Do I need to replace the pump or anything in the 3rd chamber.

Creating a small tank in the second chamber is the easy part, the hard part is getting the 1st, and 3rd chamber to interact with the 2nd chamber the right way?

How do you use a HOB fuge when the hood closes everything up... do you cut the back?
