toadstool leather polyps wont come out

Sounds like a typical shed. Mine just did the exact same thing. Glad it worked out.

    how do zoos,mushrooms,yellow polyps reproduce?

With the yellow zoas, my recommendation is to find the spot in your tank they do the absolute best... and then drop 1.5 inches. That way they will still grow, but at a slightly slower rate. You can feed these guys, they are voracious eaters much like those bloody aptasia are. Fun to watch...

    how do zoos,mushrooms,yellow polyps reproduce?

Usually great water parameters are all you need. You can frag mushrooms, but it's actually much easier to let them propagate by themselvs... Also you will find that certain critters reproduce more prolifically depending on the amount of light they have. In my opinion, yellow zoos do best as...

    Candy Cane

While it's true that most LPS you might keep in your tank can both extract nutrients from the water and from the zooxanthellae inside their polyps, it never hurts to target feed. If you want growth, then target feeding is important. My trumpet/candy cane corals love chunks of silversides and...

I'm with Cris. Sounds like micro bubbles are a distinct possibility.

toadstool leather polyps wont come out

my experience with all leathers is the same as Chris. They are *very* tempermental. When it's good it's good, and it can change quickly. One thing that many do not realize is that leather corals may shed when stressed. They aren't dying, even though they look like crap! However, when polyps do...

    zoas

Nooooooooo did I misread? If you were the one who grew them on this rock then I totally apologize. I was assuming you got them that way from another source. Maybe we should switch avatars.

    Plate coral or frogspawn

I've got an idea... how about a plating frogspawn! :) Frogspawn are great and available in a lot of different varieties. I rarely see the plating variety, and the one in my tank is so large now I could split it four ways if I had the right tile saw ad WAY more courage than I do. Also...

    zoas

I don't think it's too surprising at all... Listen, just because some shmoe aquacultured two different zoas onto a rock doesn't mean they are compatible, even close to being the same (even though the may look like it at first glance), heck they may even be from seperate parts of the planet...

    Zoas release palytoxin !!!!

Yes. Always a good idea to handle zoas wearing gloves and glasses, and keep your mouth shut. It might be a one in 100 chance of being poisoned, but I'd rather not go there. I have also had a chat with my wife about palytoxins and their effects so if I am lying on the floor next to my tank...

    Sixline Wrasse and Peppermint Shrimp

My sixline wrasse is a beautiful fish, but his name is "bastard" for a reason. I have tried adding peppermint shrimp several times, but each time the sixline does away with them. Early in my experience he also took out all of my sexy shrimp (rivaling me for most expensive meal ever eaten). I...

So, a really wierd thing hapened today. I have this beautiful encrusting greem Montipora sp. that I have had in my tank FOREVER. Last week, I went on an apstasia nuking mission, with some assistance from a 10 ml syringe and the good folks from Joe’s Juice. There was one particular...

    Mystery Invertebrate

Another stumper, at least for me. I first discovered this critter approximately 5 weeks ago. It is residing on the back glass of the tank, behind EVERYTHING. It is actually very difficult to see, it's a wierd shot through the cave under my large frogspawn. I actually probably never would have...
