    New Setup - AGA 75 Gallon Pre-Drilled

Andre, My advice to you on urchins is get rid of them or place maybe one in your sump. I had a urchin that came as a hitchhiker way back when I first set up my 12 gallon cube. He always ate my coraline and many said he would die because there isn't enough coraline for him, well he lived...

Help, Fuge light growing bad algae in my return lines !!!

I placed the 75 watt 2700 K bulb and it's made my macros really take off and stabalize my PH to a steady 8.0-8.1 in the night. However since adding it to my fuge it's making my water lines grow brown algae inside. These lines are pretty much connected so tight that I would have to cut them...

    New Setup - AGA 75 Gallon Pre-Drilled

Andre, I use the PH test kit by Salifert up untill I got my probe. The salifert colors are indeed better than other brands that are difficult to read. Mike

    chemi-clean

Sadie, In my thread evolution, I document the Red Slime Remover, it works great as I have heard the chemi-clean has killed clams. Since I'm a clam owner I went with this product instead of the chemi-clean and my clams were okay and the slime was killed. Mike G

    New Setup - AGA 75 Gallon Pre-Drilled

Andre, If you can get the Reefkeeper 2 get it, because being able to read PH is critical, the test kits blow bad in this department. If you don't upgrade the reefkeeper, I would recommend the SMS122 PH Milwaukee controller. I own it and it's affordable and controls my Milwaukee regulator...

I took another look at your clown and from what I've been reading it's not a Sebae but a Clarki. The clarki has three bands whereas the sebea only has two; if you look at the pic the third line picks up right at this tail. I've heard Clarki's will host rather quick just like sebeas, wish I...

    Not looking good for clown

Nemo, If it's ich you are gonna know because he will break out pretty bad and be scatching against the gravel or rocks; then if it's not treated you'll get a major loss of appetite. I would use No-ich as it's getting more and more popular with the reefs and it works; I've used it twice...

Sadie, What kind of clown did you get to host the anemone? Is that a clarki, saddleback or sebae? I'm still waiting for dragons two ocelleris to host my haddoni carpet, I think it's going to be a long time. Mike

    New Setup - AGA 75 Gallon Pre-Drilled

Andre, I'm really happy that the No-ich is working in your tank; it had positive results in my reef. I'm also happy that you ended up placing the freshwater version of our lights in your fuge, that is one reason your macros took off and mine didn't. 10K is not in my honest opinion for...

My Two Week Old Nanocube 24 DX

Welcome Roodee, Your rock formation is great, sort of reminds me of skull mountain from Winnie the pooh; I think you have lots of neat spots to place corals and for critters to hide. Good job on the reef building, that sets the theme of the tank... Mike G

    New Setup - AGA 75 Gallon Pre-Drilled

Andre, Thanks for laying out the detail on your tank. I can honestly tell you that our tanks are almost identical in how we started them and documented their evolution. In having almost identical equipment and corals and critters we have also been plaqued by nuissance algae, diatoms and...
