    the first 5 FTS are with two 10000K and then the next ones are with one actinic and one 20000K i feel that the bluer lighting promotes a greater growth of SPS

    45cm x 23cm x 23cm or 18in x 9in x 9in its a whole 28L with just water in it... so i'd imagine it would be only around 20L or so...

    hey carson, quick way to help seed the tank and boost the cycling process is to either ask your LFS or a local reefer if you could grab a cup of live sand off them!

    i run mine from 10am through to 9:30pm at night i dont think 5 hours would give your corals enough light and cause them to fail. remember with our tanks, we are trying to replicate nature here in the best way possible. HTH

    haha nielsens is my lfs, the guys down there know me really well... speaking of which they have WA carpet blennys in at the moment. and yes have seen the trochus snails. head up to pet city at wishart... thats where i got mine from... they recently spawned so ive got little snails growing on...

    these photos are taken over a 6 month period where the tank became more stable. but a western australian carpet blenny and 4 trochus snails certainly helped :mrgreen:

    Lion fish and tankmates for them. Are they reef safe?

    whilst can be small at first, they will grow and eventually anything which is small enough to fit in its mouth will become a nice expensive snack for the lionfish. IMO these fish are left to predator tanks only (lionfish, eels, triggers etc.)
