Where are you getting the water for your changes? Is it tap water? 3 gallon changes sounds a lot I would think 1 1/2-2 gall would be ample. Do you have a clean up crew? So many possibles mate. It should go with time though. Dave

No mate! just 1 gallon twice a week changes, and 2.5ml of marine snow once a fortnight. Dave.

I only dose my 12g with marine snow once every 10 days. I have just had to sell some colt coral back to the lfs because it got to big for my tank. My mushrooms are huge, and my button polyps spreading like wildfire. I have never added any other additives to the tank. Could it be that the corals...

try adding a ph buffer mate. dave

It's an ATC one. I callibrated it with distilled water. And it's giving my tank salinity at 1023, the same as the lfs water refractometer results. Well pleased. dave

Well I didn't know they did that!!! I came down this morning to find what I thought was a dead crab, but no! I still have two. All it had done was to shed it's skin. As an aside, how many turbo snails could I have in my 12g nano? I have two crabs and three turbo's at the moment dave

that's how I see it anyway..LOL It looks like the horns of a stag, deep red in colour about an inch high and growing daily (slowly) Any ideas? regards dave

my cleaner shrimp died last night...........Hell fire the speed my two hermits were on it and devoured it was astonishing...not a jot of it left this morning. I'll do a water change just in case the nitrates have gone up. dave

it's a 12 gallon nano. I did a 10%water straight away, and I do one twice a week also. Can't seem to see anything that caused the spike? I clean the pump filter once every two weeks. All other readings were well within limits. dave

nitrates fine now.........BUT AMMONIA UP!!!!!! dave

tested the lfs water. Nitrate-0. Only got 1 shrimp and he hasn't molted yet. dave
