    tank for my school

The difference between the nano cube and the deluxe is basically a better stock lighting kit and a couple fans with a splash guard. Kind of the normal basic mods that most people do to them. If you're looking for low-maintenance I'd make the tank bigger. The larger they are the less daily...

    tank for my school

Honestly since schools are notoriously underfunded I'd just point them at a nano-cube deluxe. Then offer to do all the running around to get stuff for them for $20. They'd get a much larger tank for less money. You could possibly get several of the LFS in your area to donate the...

    interested in gettin a nano-got ???s

With your Dad having the 200gal you're life will be much easier. You can pull water out of his to do water changes, and as long as his is healthy you won't need to deal with additives and such. For a BTA, I'd say that you'd need to mod the lights even on the new deluxe nanocube. BTA's don't...

    New to Forum

One of the best places in town for freshwater/planted tanks according to several of my friends that have these tanks is Village Tropical Fish. Aquarium Environments is an aquarium service company. I'm not sure they'll sell you fish. Aquarium World is one of the most expensive places in...

Pic of the week --- Starfish

Let's see the starfish you've got, any will do whether it's a brightly colored linkia, or tiny white mini-serpent stars. Try to keep the images to 600x450 or under so that the dialup folks can enjoy them too. Here's my most recent pic of starfish. I'll have to go digging for others.

I love it....That's a great shot. One of my percs likes the anemone, but only the dark colored RBTA, I had a lighter RBTA that it totally ignored. Now there's two green, one normal colored and one smaller and electric green, and it totally ignores them. The other clown likes my branching...

SM, could you just put a 2-3 inch piece of 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch, thick-walled tubing in the intake tube. What I'm thinking is that you get tubing that you can just barely squeeze into the intake that way you're reducing the size of the intake by the width of the tubing which will slow the flow...

You need a sponge or something on your micro-jet 450 to make sure that no detritus gets introduced to the SCWD. They don't tolerate it well, and this is generally why they break. I've known several people that have had them crater on them due to a small amount of sand or other crapola. B

That definitely makes it easier to see. So where's the outlets from the SCWD gonna go? What kind of prefilters are you going to have for it? B

I think the pale color in the cheeks is perhaps a sign of stress. I see it a lot when they're in the stores and there are a bunch of fish in a tank, but the few I've seen in stores display tanks don't tend to have it. I actually don't have this fish anymore, it didn't make it through the move...

    custom tank

If you could post smaller images of the tank that would be great. I'm having a hard time getting a good feel for your tank scrolling up and down and side to side to try to see everything. :alcohol: 600x450, or 450x338 are decent sizes for most web boards. Brian

Thats why I had it mislabeled. In the LFS and on the vendor sites online I see both fish called yellow clown goby, or citron goby. As it turns out you were correct in that the one with the white/teal stripe behind it's eye is a Citron Goby. The other one is a yellow clown goby. Not that any...

my first reef tank, 10g 8 months old

Sometimes if you change the light or flow in the area the anemone has chosen they'll start to move, once the foot is out of the crevice it's in it'll be easier to peel it off. I got my RBTA to move off a large hunk of LR that I wanted out of my tank by putting a smaller flat rock over the...

Yep you're right. I've seen both labeled as yellow clown gobies, and as citron gobies. The correct name for the fish in the pictures is neither, it's an okinawa goby. http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/Species ... fm?id=7217

He's supposed to be getting a shipment in late today. So tomorrow would probably be a good time to call. Also Kenny at Aquatic Center is great about ordering stuff for people if they ask him. Brian
