I plan on switching out some of the rock because I want more shelf rock as opposed to alot of the baseball/softball sized rock that I have now. Im sure that the coraline will come right back. As far as the bleaching goes, I think that only being able to run the 2x24 watters right now...

The 150 watt MH drew about 180 watts of electricity. I'm not sure exactly how many watts the two T5HO ballasts draw, but I'm thinking its right around 100-110 watts. HTH, Jesse

EDGRAY TANK EVOLUTION.. upgrade (April 2008) pics order pg 1

Ive seen this mod in person and Ed did a very good job on it. The lighting looks fantastic and the color he gets with the 2 pc's and the 20,000k Ushio is perfect. ANd with something like 6 fans and the chiller if he needs to run it, the tank stayed at like 75.5 while i was at his house...

Thanks Ed! I am very pleased with them. Once I get the second ballast, feel free to come by whenever you want! The cost of admission will be a low low price of only a handful of frags! jk! Jesse

I felt like the MH wasnt the best bet for the direction I want to take my tank... My clams loved it, but I missed the fluorescence that I got in my other corals with actinic supplementation. I wanted a canopy, but didnt want the 10"-12" tall canopy that would have been necessary for the MH. I...

Day/Night Cycle in JBJ Nano tank.

Do you have two lamps? Do you have separate plugs for each lamp? If so, all you have to do is make one lamp an actinic and the other a 50/50 or a daylight and put them on separate timers. Have the actinic come on and go off 45min-60min before/after the daylight. I hope that answers your...

I dont miss the shimmer much at all. I cant really FULLY compare the two yet because I am not able to fire up all four lamps without that 2nd ballast, but I love them so far. I havent had the actinic supplementation for a while and that really makes up for the loss of shimmer lines IMO...

I believe he is just using tempered glass... that all it takes. tempered will block enough of the UV light. Jesse

I received my retro kits yesterday!! I built a little temporary "canopy" to mount them into. Here they are with the atinics centered (the two outside lamps) and the daylights staggered( the two inside lamps). Here is a FTS shot with just the two daylight lamps on... Here...

How did you acclimate him? Have you fed your tank since you put him in there? If you have a flake of food in you fingers, he should come RUNNING for it. Jesse

I just placed my order for the lamps from reefgeek.com... I will be picking them up Sat morning. My 4x24 watt retros should be here Friday and I should be able to pick up a canopy on Fri too. So... looks like I will be able to have it all set up and running by Sat afternoon! Plenty of...

    Additives :pills

You just want to make sure that you get the temp/ph/salinty etc as close to the same as possible when doing the larger water changes. I think you'll see a difference. Jesse

    Additives :pills

I personally recommend doing a water change of around 25% weekly. The more you change, the more traces you are replenishing. IMO, 10% just isnt enough. I personally change 50% of my total volume when I do water changes... usually 15 gallons of my total 30 gallons or so. Jesse
