Great pics. I found that it's pretty difficult to get decent pics at the aquariums. The thicker acrylic, and the darkened atmosphere play hell with my pics. So the one's you've posted are really doubly spectacular. :wink: B

I use an Olympus C-5050 zoom. It's a couple year old pro-sumer. It gives me decent quality pics for the most part. I'm getting to the point that I'd like to move up to a digital SLR, but since I don't have the money for it, I'll just keep practicing/learning with what I've got. :smile: B

You can try cutting back on your light cycle somewhat. I can't remember if you're running a fuge or not. If you are, get some more macro for it, the added macro should help pull more nutrients out of the system. By upgrading your lights you're putting more energy into the system. It's great...

You can just put the back portion of a cassette tape case over the grille as well...It creates a surface skimmer....But this is not the same thing as a protein skimmer. There's a ton of info on nano-reef about people doing it. If I had a cube it would be the first mod I'd do. :smile: B

Without modifying the cube there isn't any skimmers that will work as far as I know. The nanocustoms guys are supposedly trying to figure one out, but so far they haven't come up with anything. B

I'd also remove the sponge from the aquaclear, or try to rinse it out very well a couple times a week. I tried the rinse method for awhile, but found I kept forgetting so I just removed them and my levels have been lower. B
