Would appriciate the links Mike. My tanks lights had been off cycle and caused alot of stress to some corals and loses of others. This storm was the last thing I wanted to see.

I just spent 2 hours loading 25 miniature horses in trailers to be hauled north, and there are still more to be taken care of. I've purchased the battery operated pumps and have been cutting down on the lights since Monday, so I think that I have done what I can for now. Any oother ideas...

Can you try to get a better picture? I've had stomatella in both my tanks, but never a whitish one, but that isn't to say thats not what it is.

You can place it in a shady area, some do and some don't. Technically they are non-photosynthetic.

If you have a little fan you can point it in the tanks direction, as long as it is hitting the top of the water it will help cool the temp down. If there is a canopy on the tank, installing a fan in the canopy would be a good idea too.

Once you decide on how big/small of a tank you are going to get, the other questions will be easier to answer. I agree with Shaggy though, the bioload listed for the 12 is too much for the limited space that a 12 has. Might even be pushing it for the 24, just my opinion again. As to an...
